Cosy knitwear for Spring weather

FashionFashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

I love having some nice cosy jumpers in the wardrobe. The ones that make you feel all snugly when its so cold outside and dull. Or when you don’t want to be all dressed up but yet want to look stylish even if you are layered up like an Eskimo. Hence these fine knitwear jumpers are perfect for the wardrobe, warm enough to layer up yet perfect for a crisp spring day.

Now I know I posted this on my facebook page wearing it a slightly different way than it should be worn. Pippa O’Connor posted the same jumper on the same day wearing it the correct way over the shoulders and put me to shame!. Personally I think it can be worn either ūüôā Albeit it I’m no Pippa O’Connor no question about that and over the shoulder is fabulous too ūüôā This is the cosiest jumper I have in the wardrobe, its a fine knit and the wool is ever so soft. You can get this jumper here¬†for ‚ā¨29.95.¬†They are also available in other colours so I may need to invest ūüôā

I like the ease of this jumper, where you can throw it on over jeans and I have a couple of different coloured leather skirts that I wear with it too. The blue jeans are from Stradivarius for ‚ā¨19.95 and you’ll find them¬†here

I paired it with my Zara military wool coat which is so warm, and goes with everything. Unfortunately its sold out but you will find similar here and here. Nude shoes are from Asos but are sold out, however penneys currently have similar in stock at the moment.

So girls if you aren’t in possession of similar jumpers in your wardrobe, id recommend maybe getting some. They are super handy to throw on and great to keep you warm if the weather is anyway cool.

Until next time

Pink is the new black!

FashionFashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

I am loving the spring colours creeping in but in particular all those candy/bubblegum pinks and hot pinks. They are such a lovely change from black and perfect for Spring/Summer. In fact I love all the bright colours that pop up around this time of the year. And with this dull weather I find it really refreshing. I tend to purchase things now for the summer wardrobe too. Main reason being, we never really get much of a summer here in Ireland but I hate to wear dark colours during the summertime even if the weather feels like its confused and cold!! Hence its always a good idea to pick up bright jumpers/Tops/coats now

The thing about pink is it goes with absolutely everything blue jeans/black/grey jeans, oh and so perfectly with white!

Not only am I loving the pink but I adore all things frills at the moment, this little beauty above is Savida. Its like a sweatshirt material which I love but it can be dressed up. Dunnes Stores have really improved their branding and their style of clothing. This is from the Savida brand, which would have been regarded as a little more expensive but believe it or not this was ‚ā¨30 and is still available online¬†here

I choose to wear mind with my black leathers but I’m planning on wearing these with white jeans when it becomes acceptable to pull them out and as the weather gets dryer!

The bag was a gift from hubbie as before and the heels are penneys as before also (They are current stock and ‚ā¨16)

There is some gorgeous pink clothing for this season girls so dont be afraid to try it out. Plus there is different options of hues in the colour pink, so something to suit every complexion

Embellished Jackets

FashionFashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

Happy Monday

I’m in the midst of packing I hate packing but especially if its just a carry on bag…I mean seriously I have a 101 things I want to bring but impossible to fit…as I’m packing I came across this embellished Jacket. I love embellished jackets or tops as they work with everything!

I picked it up in Zara during January, it was on sale and quiet a bargain, unfortunately its now gone but I have seen similar here and here. The thing about these type jackets is there are super for any event ..I paired mine with a casual pair of jeans but leathers would look great with them or skirts or just thrown over a dress/jumpsuit!

The jeans are Stradivarius, they have a slight distressed look and are the most comfiest jeans I own, at ‚ā¨19.05 they are a steal and you’ll find them¬†here. The heels are current and from Penneys, they were ‚ā¨16.

The bag is vintage and I adore it, Its a leather Louis Vuitton clutch and I picked it up in an old vintage shop in a London flee market…best buy ever and got it for a steal less than ‚ā¨40!

I love a statement earring too if I’m not wearing any necklace, personally I feel if the top/jacket is embellished then you dont need much more than earrings. These are HM and were ‚ā¨9.99 got them December last year but they are still in stock online¬†here

The pics are by the fabulous Irina Happy Memories Photography love them xx

Hope you enjoyed this post ladies and any questions just ask, so with that I better get back to my packing and this jacket is coming with me, can wear it day or night!

Until next time

My Style and a little boutique in the south east!

FashionMy Style

You all know I’m all about affordable fashion and supporting local boutiques or not even local but Irish owned Boutiques.. I’ve said it so many times, everyone should pop into their local boutiques, you’ll be surprised what you’ll find and how inexpensive it can be…Everyone has this misconception that boutiques are expensive…yes some are but the majority of our Irish owned boutiques aren’t and you can find some lovely affordable pieces for any occasion. Times have changed and I have got some gorgeous pieces in the last few years from Irish owned Boutiques…

If you saw on my Facebook page¬†the other night, I popped into a little gem of a shop located in the south east of Ireland, and discovered some beautiful pieces. In the thriving town of Dungarvan lies a Boutique called¬†Signet-Boutique¬† it’s so pretty, they have an amazing collection and you’ll always find something that little bit special here. I’m lucky I visit Dungarvan a lot as my lovely sister lives there, so its hard not to pop into it when I’m visiting! Finola and the girls are incredibly helpful and so lovely. Last Saturday I popped in for a quick look, and let me tell you its never quick as you’ll be seduced by the stock!! So here’s a look at what I picked up ….

Crop pic of top

I adore this top from Signet its one of those tops that is perfect for a night out or catch up with the girls during the daytime/evening time, its dressy but can be worn casual. The detail on this top is incredible. I love the bow part and hems on the sleeves as they are all sequins while the rest of the top is a t-shirt type material. It is the most comfiest top I’ve worn. At ¬†‚ā¨59.99 it definitely looks a lot more!!

I paired the Top with my Freddy Leathers which you may have noticed I wear to death, I didn’t pick the leathers up in Signet but guess what ladies? Signet stock the freddy jeans and leathers!! Another good reason for you to pop in!!

Anytime I wear these leather pants I’m inundated with questions about them! They are extremely comfy and true to size.

Crop pic of heels

The heels are my all time bargain, picked these up in Penneys for ‚ā¨16 .. love them!

So girls do pop into Signet if you live or are down near the area, I promise you won’t be disappointed, they are also on facebook and I’m pretty sure they’ll take orders online!! This top is only one of many fabulous pieces they have in stock. Their link is¬†here

Lots more looks in the pipeline and pretty busy for the next few weeks, but can I just thank Emer Irish Fashaholic for these amazing pictures. And how beautiful are the interiors in the Penthouse of the Clayton Hotel Cork City, want them for my own house :). I love working with Emer, always great fun and chats, and I wish her the best of luck with her new arrival on the way in a few weeks xx

Until next time

Monday blues…Not when you meet an amazing Photographer!

Fashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

In this industry the fashion/Blogging industry you meet all different types of people. In Cork there is an amazing network of people with huge support for one another, & in general in the blogger community. At the weekend I had the pleasure of meeting another like minded lady who has a serious passion for all things fashion and an unreal sense of style. She should have been in front of the camera and not behind the lens! I met with Irina from Happy Memories Photography who is an unbelievably talented and very creative photographer but an incredibly nice person. We clicked straight away and had an amazing morning shooting some looks.

Irina is based in the south east coast and photographs Children, families, weddings, fashion and any other type of occasion. She’s also starting to focus on personal branding photography so watch this space! Irina started it about 10 years ago and¬†¬†trained with some of the best photographers in the UK, USA, Ireland and Russia. Which isn’t really too surprising as she is a very talented lady! I will leave all her details at the bottom of this post so please go follow her as you’ll love what she does.

For our Shoot Saturday I kept the look nice and casual..it was freezing so this wooly jumper kept me nice and snug!

Dungarvan 4

I picked this jumper up in¬†Vanilla Boutique¬†and I love the embroidered detail on it. Its more a dressy, casual type jumper. And so wearable with jeans or leather pants…The bag was a lovely gift from my Hubbie. (Yes I’m spoilt!)

Dungarvan Irina 5

The shoes I featured before and picked these up from Milanoo, they are over two years old but very good quality..these were less than ‚ā¨25 ¬†and are still available¬†here.

The jeans are such a lovely blue denim and very comfortable, I picked them up in Stradivarius for a mere ‚ā¨19.95 and the Coat is Penneys a bargain at ‚ā¨35…its lovely and lightweight which will be ideal for Summer (currently in stock)!

I had so much fun working with Irina, she has an amazing ability to put you at ease when taking pictures. You’ll find all her details here and shes a wonderful photographer so go check her out.

To my two loves…

I was asked by my lovely friend Karen would I guest blog on her fabulous blog¬†Yankee doodle paddy¬†The theme was all about love. As I mainly blog about fashion I never get the opportunity to blog about my other loves..my two girls, I like to keep them private and away from my fashion blog…But I have always wanted to pin something for them so that perhaps in years to come they will have something from me…and thanks to the gorgeous, kindest person I know, Karen, I got that opportunity ..(you should go follow her the link is above) so here it goes …..

To my beautiful girls, I love you…

They say a daughter may outgrow your lap but never outgrow your love…

I met a friend recently who lost her mother, heartbroken as she was, and I for her, she reminded me of this..”Pam no one will love you unconditionally but your mother, she is the only one, who will ever truly love you no matter what you do or how you live your life”..and you know what she is absolutely correct…

So Saoirse and Aoibhin I love you both just as equally, I only wish I had a pause button to stop you both from growing but I can’t, all I can do is give you love, help you navigate and prepare you for your own life paths…

To Saoirse..my wonderful kind sweet little girl, your smile lights up any room, and your beautiful eyes grow bigger when you are inquisitive about the world or trying to express something…you are full of wit & wonder for your age, always curious and always questioning, and sometimes when I don’t quiet know the answer, you figure it out for both of us in your own unique and clever way.

Because you are very clever Saoirse and very intelligent. In ways you are so like your daddy a thinker, a dreamer… you like quiet time..you are friendly but always live in your own little bubble happily singing away to yourself (You have a beautiful little voice Miss S)…don’t ever stop dreaming my darling, because you can be anything or do anything you want to do. Open your mind and your eyes to the world, be an explorer, its broadens the mind (just ask your daddy)!

You are so kind, I wish the world would have a lot more kinder people like you in it…and I fear that when you are my age, this world may be a lot crueler than it is now, but rise above it Saoirse..kindness and love never costs anything…..Always be happy and be yourself…

I love that you want to be a ninja when everyone’s a princess..the world needs more ninjas! You are always aware of others feelings, you are soft but know your own mind..(which hasn’t gone unnoticed by others) its wonderful to know your own mind, so hold onto that, never let anyone tear you down!

To my little Aoibhin..polar opposite to your big sister, you’re a lovable pup, strong willed, (head strong to be exact) but soft on the inside…a rogue who loves attention…stay lovable my little one. You have no fear, brave and are afraid of nothing! Hold onto that, it will lead you on great adventures!

An intelligent¬†little lady who¬†knows how to get what you want, another plus but remember, be kind and compassionate when you’re doing this…you’re still very young and your big sister teaches you well when it comes to kindness and sharing. You look up to her and are such best friends. You are the most lovable head strong little girl who gives the best hugs and kisses ..I’ll miss your little hand clasping mine and carrying you (when I know you are more than capable of walking)..but its the lovely feeling of your little hands wrapped around my neck I love most. Or when you press your cheek to mine when you tell me your tired! I love when you creep into my room still half asleep, arms held out and a little smile as I tuck you into our bed..I moan at times as I wish sometimes you’d sleep in your own bed…but deep down I know I will miss it!! You have the most infectious giggle, and are so full of devilment, always bright eyed and happy…stay that way!

Both you girls are daddy and my little pets, you hold our hearts (you always will). I’ll say it again my girls, you both can be and achieve anything you want..we will always love you both with our whole hearts and be proud of what you are and what you will become…we are always here for you no matter what, and will do our very best to protect and guide you.

Always be kind girls and aware of others. Have compassion for others, (please remember that). Support each other and stick together in life, a sisters bond is a powerful one. Value family, its important when the path gets that bit darker, families love will pull you through….lift each other up when sometimes this world might try to knock you down.Have respect for yourselves and for others no matter who they are. Make good friends and when you have found them cherish them ..you’ll create fabulous memories with family and friends!.

I try everyday to be kind and show love & compassion and I will always keep trying to improve, so girls please always try. In fact try everything and even if you think you can’t do it (especially you my lovely Saoirse) you can do it! As teacher says “Always try your best, its always good to try” Try everyday to be a better person.

Above all figure out what it is you want in life and go get it…you can be anything you want to be, stay true to yourself and listen to your gut!! And know this we will always support you.

Finally this pretty much sums it up for me…(and your dad)
“A child can teach an adult three things; To be happy for no reason, to always be curious, to fight tirelessly for something”

Love you always

Mummy xx
