Well last weekend it was hubbies birthday and he decided we’d head off for a romantic night…eh no it was  actually for a full night sleep without any minions climbing into our bed at some unmerciful hour of the night!! Not only that Hubs decided to send me off to Limerick for the day…Low and behold Pippa O’Connor was having a pop up store in Limerick on the same day!!(As my sister asked while calling her on the way down..Whose birthday is it again?? I know right?)

Now before going into the pop up shop I had an idea of what I wanted and after looking like a 100 times online I decided it was…the slimmers!

When I got there I was  met with a queue but in fairness it moved pretty quickly..as always and to be expected (as it is Pippa after all) the pop up shop was beautifully set out…very classy and the girls on hand to greet us, were so so helpful, very informative and full of advise!! We could try two at a time and I mentioned I wanted to try them all…research ladies research!!!

As they handed me the Leather look and the Off Duty I couldn’t help but notice how soft the “Off Duty” felt I mean incredibly soft!

So here’s the rundown on all the jeans by each style and I’ll let you know at the end what I ordered!

The Leather Look

Can I say in general for any leather look jean I’m not a huge fan ..perhaps its that coated feel but that is just me personally..Just before I tried them on I was advised to go a size down on all the jeans, as all are stretchy material. I am a size 8 in river Island jeans so they suggested a 6 (Now that’s a first!!) Visions of burst zips, ripped jeans, one toe just fitting in the leg and not moving any further…you get my drift!!! With a nervous voice I ask Michelle McGrath was she sure about that..I am definitely not a 6!! But she reassured me they’d fit!! Suffice to say the 6 was perfect…the jeans went on no problem and stretched to fit my shape. I went for the shorter lenght to try on as I’m only 5’5 and generally ( Any Regular is a little longer on me and I end up rolling them up).  The short lenght was perfect, slightly below the ankle (so no rolling up), and the shape was nice on ..now don’t get me wrong the leather look was nice and comfortable, and gave your figure a great shape. The other thing I like about all poco jeans is that they are either a mid rise or high rise (The leather look is mid rise), so no exposing anything embarrassing when bending down and no pulling up jeans numerous times during the day!

Over all they are nice,  give a good shape but not gone on the coated feel ((maybe that is just a personal thing as I am not gone on the coated look I prefer faux leather). I did notice that because they were being tried on so much there was a few makeup marks on the waistline of the jeans but that’s normal for coated jeans so clean your hands before putting them on. These are priced at €90

The Off Duty

As I said straight up when handed these jeans to try on in the waiting room, I was instantly in love as they were unbelievably soft. On trying them they fitted so comfortably, I could see myself wearing these on a night out or living in them every day for school runs, walking, running around shopping etc. The girls also mentioned they could be worn with heels or trainers which was so true! Again the fit was high rise(no exposure bending down to pick the toddler up!) and slightly distressed. They were lovely and stretchy too. They say they are a loose fit but I found the 6 nice and fitted around the waist/ Bum area but the leg and below the thigh was more a relaxed fit but not too slouchy which is nice for a change. I was told they will loosen out below the knee but not anywhere else so a nice laid back look jean (hence the off duty name!)  Instantly I was sold, they are without a doubt a lovely pair of jeans and worth every penny (That’s just my preference! And they seemed to suit my shape) They only come in a lenght 29″ but are meant to be worn rolled up. They are priced at €90.

The Slimmers

I love a nice skinny jean and these were definitely skinny…now they weren’t like those skinny’s that you try on and literally cant get the leg up over your knee..these also are a stretchy material. They are mid to high rise (Bonus) but it was the shape of the top of these jeans I loved. They lift your bum up and have a lovely shape around the bum area, the stitching has a little similarity to salsa jeans. The fit past the waist was comfortable but very fitted on the legs. The lenght I tried in these was regular as the short wasn’t available and it went half way over my foot. (again I’m 5’5 so definitely need the shorter lenght). Again I liked these particularly around the bum area it gave a lovely shape with the stitching. They weren’t my favourite although the more I looked at the fit on my shape the more they grew on me, I think  the lenght threw me a bit (plus i wouldn’t have the skinniest of legs either)…overall they were nice and gave a great shape. These jeans are a little more expensive than the others at €110.

The Saturday night

What can I say, as soon as I tried these on I loved them. A gorgeous comfy jean and so flattering, I can see why they are so popular. They have very stretchy material,  I tried the size 6 and shorter lenght (28″ which hit my ankle). They have a slight fading throughout but more so on the knee part. (The only thing I would say is they could fade more, as you wash them so just be conscious of this). They were gorgeous around the waist/bum area, i believe they are described as bum lifting and that they are. They are incredibly comfortable not as soft as the Off Duty but still so so comfy. A jeans for any occasion, (night out or casual with trainers running after young ones!!) Without a doubt I loved these also. A little more expensive than the slimmer or off duty at €110 but worth it for the shape and comfort alone.

In the end my favourite are “The off Duty”…a gorgeous jean for day or night…so well done Pippa, you know what us women want and with the options of styles there is something to suit every type of shape and woman! You can find all styles here

The only thing I will say is we definitely could do with more pop up shops please, Pippa, as you can’t really judge what suits your shape until you try them on 🙂

Hope that helped girls and any other questions you might have, just ask me

Until next time

Love

Pam xx
