Printed Blazer..my favourite piece in the wardrobe

FashionMy Style

This printed Blazer is without a doubt my most covet piece in the wardrobe at the moment. I love a good blazer I think we all do, I have a good few hanging in the wardrobe, all different colours. Some for the colder spring months and early autumn and then the summer ones, but I’ve never had a dressy going out blazer that you’d wear as a top!

The moment I spotted this silky blazer I fell in love…I knew even by looking at it on a hanger it was going to be fab on!  After trying it on I was in love, totally my style and a little quirky.

The back is just as pretty as the front with the swan print, and I just love how tailored it is. The silk material makes it lovely and dressy for a night out.

The belt of the blazer was a bit tricky at first to figure out. Its like a obi belt but the widest part of the belt goes to the front and then you wrap the rest of it around your waist tying a bow (the thinnest part of the belt) over the widest part at the front (I had a few of you inquiring about this on snap chat!) I pair it with a nude camisole (this one is from Dunnes) but you can also pair a black cami or a bralette underneath if your daring enough, I would love to but I’m a bit too top heavy to nail the bralette look!

I have this blazer a good while now, over a month but thankfully it is still in stock. I picked it up in Zara and was €79.95 definitely a bit more expensive that my usual purchases but absolutely worth every penny. I love it! It is still in stock and you can also find it online here. I paired it with my River Island Leathers but unfortunately they are no longer in stock. You will find similar here.

Hope you enjoyed this look

Until next time

The dress you can wear on its own or over jeans

FashionMy Style

The dress you can wear over jeans…say what now? I’ve noticed that I am starting to play around with my style lately and for some unknown reason I’m liking wearing dresses over jeans…Maybe its just an age thing or something but I kind of like this style.

Don’t get me wrong I like wearing the dress on its own too with a pair of rose gold heels for date night. But I want to get more wear out of the dresses that are hanging idle in the wardrobe. The ones that are short enough for a night out ..not too short mind..but are just that little bit too short to be wearing on their own running after kids and picking up toys!! Hence where the jeans come into it.

I spotted this dress in one of my local boutiques Corali and loved it…I love the colours & Print on this dress and its incredibly comfortable. Its a one size fits all dress and so roomy, it definitely would fit up to size 14. I actually put my own belt around it to give it more of a shape and the pleats in this dress are so flattering too. Its the perfect dress for spring.

A closer look at the dress so as you can see the pleats throughout…it also has bell sleeves.  I had this belt from another dress that works perfectly with it. A tan belt will also look good. The bag is from TK Maxx (as before) on previous post, its getting get mileage and was an absolute bargain.

The jeans are as before from Stradivarius and you’ll find them here ..again another bargain and getting loads of wear out of these jeans as they are so comfy. The heels are old but you’ll find similar nude heels from Asos here

This dress is a great all rounder and I think it works with jeans. Caroline still has this dress in stock and I guarantee you its the most comfortable dress especially if you are out for dinner 🙂  I have a few other dresses hanging in the wardrobe too that I’ve started to wear with jeans I guess if the lenght is just below your thigh then you can wear it with jeans ..any longer in lenght and you may not pull off this look .

Hope you enjoyed this post and if you have any questions just ask I’m happy to help

This seasons biker jacket!

My Style

This seasons biker jacket i am loving..

You know when your looking for a casual jacket but the denim jacket just wont suffice as its just too casual for that dressy casual look that you are trying to pull off?? Well this seasons jacket that’s in every highstreet you could possibly think of is perfect and its the biker jacket…but in the pastel colours!

Its the perfect type of jacket to turn a casual look into a slightly dressier look than normal. It works with pretty much everything! You may have seen me wear it in a recent post with a dress I picked up in Debenhams, if you haven’t you’ll find the post here.

I love the colours that are available in these type of jackets and the fact that its a soft suede makes it nice and warm and not too heavy if that makes sense. Mind you, it needs to be looked after as it can easily get stained. I picked a blush pink as it goes with everything. I have spottted nice baby blues and beige also and they are equally nice. I picked this up in Stradivarius for €45.95 so it didn’t cost an arm and a leg. You’ll find it here I’ve also spotted similar in Zara but a little bit more expensive.

I kept the look simple and casual and paired it with this simple frill top from Penneys which was only €12 or something like that. Got it about a month ago although I know they are still in stock. Zara have a similar top to that here I also paired it with my black noisy may jeans which you’ll find here. The bag is parfois as before. It just goes with every outfit.

Thanks to the beautiful Irina from Happy Memories Photography for all the fab pics.

Hope you enjoyed the post, any questions just ask.

Until next time

Casual Wear during Easter Term

FashionFashion and Beauty BlogMy StyleUncategorized

casual wear

Casual wear during the Easter Holiday…so I’ve been living in casual wear since the kids got their holidays..Mainly because the alarm clock (aka two minions) have been waking up at ungodly hours and I’m literally too tired to even think let alone decide what to throw on..hence nice casual wear for the day. Its a comfy and little more relaxed easy look when dealing with two kids all day 🙂

This current piece is from a little boutique which only recently opened called Corali. It is owned by a gorgeous girl called Caroline, who is unbelievably helpful, and has an amazing eye for good quality affordable fashion!

I grabbed this jumper from her store a few weeks back, as soon as I tried it on I loved it…its so comfy but a fab piece too with lovely little details on the arms (a star on one side and an anchor the other side) This is a two in one piece with the collar and hem attached to the jumper. Its all in one and I can’t count how many times I’ve been complimented when wearing it.

Its a fine knit jumper and perfect for this kind of weather, as in cold one day nice and mild the next. The jumper also looks well with a navy blazer. I washed this a good few times now and it hasn’t lost it shape, the quality is excellent for the price I paid for it at €48 (from memory)

The lenght of the jumper is lovely too not too long for a 5’4 shorty like me but a nice lenght all the same. I paired mine with my stradivarius jeans which were €19.95, find them instore or here. I have these jeans a while and what I will say about them is they are true to size and after several wears & washes they have kept their shape. The only thing is they are distressed jeans and the rips on the knee have widened a lot more so if you don’t really like when that happens then avoid these jeans.

The heels are from Littlewoods Ireland but they are sold out sorry guys but Asos have similar here.

So a nice casual day time look for any wardrobe and as far as I know Corali still have these in stock, if you contact Caroline in the link above you’ll can order over the phone.

Hope you like and if you have any questions just ask me

Until next time

A little lace top!

FashionMy Style

I’m always drawn to lace ..for me it never dates and its always good to have a little lace top (white preferably) hanging in the wardrobe. It goes with everything and you can mix it up with skirts, jeans or trousers.

This one I picked up in the January sales in Stradivarius, but even since then I have seen similar everywhere. And I’m not surprised as they are so dressy for day or nighttime and suit every kind of shape. This is slightly shorter so will suit a petite figure. But I have seen longer lengths to suit taller or longer torso s.

I paired this with my grey jeans from Noisy may which you’ll find here but I have also worn this with blush pink trousers and tulle skirts too. In the summer I pair it with denim shorts and it looks fab. (I’ll show you another picture below)

The heels are old from Savida, but they have a similar darker pair in stock at the moment. I wear this outfit during the day and it can also be worn at night.

Like I mentioned these type of lace tops never date so don’t afraid to purchase one if you are not already an owner..I guarantee you this type of top will be the one that you pull out from your wardrobe to wear, time and time again. As this was purchased in January I have found similar ones for you here, here herehere and here

As I said above I have also paired this top with Blush pants from Zara and nude heels and it goes perfectly together too. See pic below.

A pretty skirt for any occassion

FashionMy Style

A pretty skirt for any occasion is very hard come by…I kid you not. So when I spotted this one I simply had to have it..its that one skirt you can wear during the day its dressy but with a hint of sexy with the lace hem…

Most importantly you can wear it during the day or night..you can dress it down with a grungy tshirt and converse and its got that nice edgy casual look if you are brave enough to pull it off!

I on the other hand, am not that brave sometimes, maybe its my height that restricts me from being more edgy but I stuck to safe for this look..But first lets talk about this skirt!

I adored it from the moment I saw it in Bella Dungarvan I bought it instantly and even though I had nothing or no clue what to wear it with I simply had to have it…its a pleated skirt but with a delicate almost see through lace hem! It is so feminine which i love and even though its pleated its tulle material.

Its slightly high waisted again another bonus as it hides a multitude and trust me I have things to hide 🙂 Its the perfect colour to carry you through the Spring/Summer season.

I paired this skirt with a simple white fine knit jumper from H&M, I will however wear it with a simple cami over the summer for a night out. The reason for pairing it with a knit is a have two of my gorgeous nieces communions coming up and feel this will be perfect to wear for either of their communions. Understated!

The skirt was €48, and the Top from H&M was €29.99 and still in store and online here

The bag was a gift from my Brother but its by Parfois.

Savida’s Perfect Red & Pink Print Dress, ideal for bursting into the Spring Summer Season!

FashionMy Style

SavidaSavida’s red and pink print dress is an absolutely beauty to wear throughout Spring/Summer. This dress was kindly given to my by Savida for Dunnes Stores. It has the most beautiful print and such vibrant colours, I instantly fell in love.

dress

It is an unbelievably flattering dress as its seam waisted and skims the stomach area. I love the fact it is midi lenght and even at 5’5 it is perfect for me. It is such a high quality dress, with 100% polyester lining, and even after washing it (which you can do at a 40 degree wash) it hasn’t lost it shape or vibrancy!

daytime dress

Its always so hard to find a nice dress with long sleeves and this one from Savida is perfect, I know I keep mentioning it but I cannot get over the quality. This dress is €50 but in my opinion it looks way more expensive and such good value

I paired a belt with the dress as it cinches and defines the waist even more but you don’t need to do this at all. It looks good with or without a belt.

I wore the Savida dress with these New look block heels as I feel they’ll work in the daytime and nighttime during the summer months. And I’ve even worn this dress with beige ankle boots and it looks fab. Its the perfect dress from going from day to evening time, its so versatile which is another reason I love it so much. The bag is TK Maxx and was €19.99. You’ll find the heels here and more importantly you will find the dress here online and it is also available in stores now!

So girls I’d advise you hightail it to Savida  fairly rapidly, as since wearing this dress at an event last Saturday, I have been inundated with questions about it and I know a few of you managed to snap it up..its amazing and even better in real life!!

Hope you enjoyed the post and I’ll have loads more looks to follow

Until next time

Gallery …Another Dunnes Stores Brand to watch!

FashionFashion and Beauty Blog

So as my previous post mentioned, I was kindly invited to Dunnes Stores head office to view some of the collections..Gallery was one of the amazing brands I got to view. I met with two of the buyers the fabulous and informative Anna and Sorcha. Like Savida, Gallery has really evolved in the last few years, catching the attention of a younger audience and transforming the perception that its only for the older lady!

The girls took me through each collection and its story piece by piece. I was blown away by the different array of colours, florals and prints that will be on offer and I can guarantee you, you’re in for a treat when they land!!

I’ve noticed a huge improvement in the collection in the last couple of years and the quality is unreal for the price point. Without a doubt its amazing value.

It oozes sophistication and is unbelievably chic, both evident throughout the occasional wear and right down to the casual pieces. There is something to suit every type of woman and for any shape.

Every collection has a different theme and colour. Floral is huge, and there is ample choices of lace.

Vibrant greens, Blues, Yellows, Pink and Reds are dominant in each collection, I love how they have added greens and yellows, fabulous colours for summer!

There is a great choice of casual and occasional wear and for anyone who has weddings, communions and Races, you need not worry Gallery will have you covered.

I am particularly loving the casual gear, its so practical yet so on trend. They have the type of pieces you will wear time and time again. (See below..both these are available in other colours)

And how fab is this Casual jacket below and they have introduced some gorgeous jeans in a variety of colours that will land very soon.

I have loads of images of other gorgeous stock that will be landing in stores, but I will share those over the next few days on Facebook….

The girls have done an amazing job with the up and coming collections hitting the store and I am told there is another beautiful coat in the pipeline similar to the embellished one I shared with you a couple of weeks back so watch this space!!

If you have any questions or need pricing on any of the items above just message me I’ll be happy to help

Until next time

Savida: A cut above the rest!!

FashionFashion and Beauty Blog
Flamingo Dress
Savida

Savida, a label worth knowing! Last Wednesday I was kindly invited to pop into Dunnes Stores head office for a sneak preview of what’s to come into their stores for the Savida and Gallery Collections…

I am a huge fan of Savida (see previous post on collections I’ve worn) and I love to see how much it has evolved & grown in the past two years…To say I was impressed with the amount of hard work that has gone into pulling & selecting the collections is an understatement. They have some AMAZING quality pieces coming into the stores, now and in the next coming months. I had the opportunity to with meet with the fabulous and talented buyers who talked me through the collections piece by piece.

I never fully understood the amount of thought, blood, sweat and tears that the buyers go through in pulling a collection that is worthy to land on their store floors, and this visit was certainly an eye opener for me!

First up Savida, I am already a fan of this label and I adore their recent collections, they are young, chic and incredibly stylish but practical at the same time. There is something for everyone in their collections for summer, and the vibrant colours add lots of fun to it.

I love the variety available at Savida currently, there is something for everyone, practical items but with subtle details, making it that bit more unique. Colours are prominent, but the palettes chosen are wearable time and time again! Every collection coming up in the next few months all have a different palette. Blues and Yellows are visible for the current collection, yet reds, bright pinks, whites, navy’s, stripes are all more dominant in up and coming collections. All very wearable and pieces that will take you further into the autumn season too!

Savida have thought of every type of scenario or occasion (christening, bbq. summer party, races, communion) you might have, and created a collection for a strong busy woman..perception has always been that Dunnes is where your “mum” shopped for clothes, but this current mum who shops in Savida is young, trendy and very fashionable! The collection is younger and appeals to every sort of woman, the working professional in their 20’s, the busy but fashionable mom, the socialite girl, Savida has something for all these confident sophisticated ladies!

Savida have worked hard to change this perception of their clothing and have found the direction in where their collection is going, its remarkable how in such a short space of time they really have evolved and young fashionistas are sitting up and starting to notice!

So ladies keep your eyes peeled for these collections to land in-store, I had so many favourites I wanted and am impatiently waiting for them to hit the floor, top of my list is that beautiful giraffe print dress (top pic)….June cannot come quick enough..

I will be showing more of the collection in the next few days. There is so much gorgeous pieces, too much to show here but I will share them on my facebook page here!

Let me know what has caught your eye too and if you have any questions on pricing or when they will be available just send me a message, I be happy to help.

Until next time

Boho dress:The kind of dress you can wear day/night

FashionMy Style
Boho dress
Debenhams Ireland Dress

The boho dress, the type of dress that you can rock with ankle boots and a leather jacket during the day or dress up for a dinner…I had been searching for this type of dress for ages!! I really wanted a dress I could wear with ankle boots, as I’m constantly living in them…this dress is perfect for that kind of look!

Boho dress

Its the perfect dress for Spring/Summer and wear it with a pair of lace up heels which I had planned on doing! I spotted the exact heels in New Look here so I’m hightailing it there next moment I get 🙂 I have a sneaky suspicion this dress will also be worn in the winter with tights and ankle boots too!

Spring floral dress

The detailing on this boho dress is fabulous and subtle, the shoulders have little frills on them and the sleeve is a slight bell shape. The hem of the dress is lovely too.

NINE by Savannah Miller

The cut of this boho dress is amazing and would hide any tummy one might have. Just below the breast line it flows out slightly and skims the tummy area.

Biker jacket

I paired the dress with a soft suede pink biker jacket which in fact goes with lots of other things in my wardrobe. Its so comfy and the hint of pink is great for summer.

Dress was on-sale reduced to €27!!!!! Its from NINE by Savannah Miller (Who I love) she is doing a range of clothing in Debenhams Ireland you’ll find it here. The Suede biker jacket is Stradivarius and was €45.95 you’ll find it here. Shoes are from Littlewoods as before but as I said I want to purchase the ones from New look to complete the look 🙂
