Galway Fashion Trail
FashionUncategorized
So last Saturday 05th of November, we had the Galway fashion trail, as you are aware from my last post on the Athlone Fashion trail, these are a great way to promote local boutiques and businesses in the area. The area being Galway which is close to my heart as many moons ago I lived there for a good 6 years. Its such a vibrant city with so much to offer..and since I’ve been away it has grown and so many new businesses have sprung up..not only is it livelier than ever but its thriving!! So as you can imagine I was delighted to be invited by ITWBN. The event was organised by Golden Egg Production and like the last one it was a huge success.
We started the trail as always with a yummy breakfast hosted by Colm Quinn BMW Galway and of course they teased us with their gorgeous Cars…hubbie christmas has not yet arrived and as I hinted before this would be a “very” nice present …think of it as a pressie for both of us 🙂 CrevationDesigns Majella also had her hats on display at the BMW showroom and she is one talented lady!
After fueling up and getting chauffeured into town by BMW our first stop was Colette Latchford beautiful clothing for any occassion and they stock labels such as Marc Cain, Onjenu to name a few.
So after being wowed by Colette Latchfords incredible collections we headed for Greene Shoes in Eyre square shopping center oh my goodness girls they had amazing shoes and boots, wanted all of Amy Hubermans collection, Such affordable prices too! They also had some gorgeous bags and featured hats from Galway hat shop
Next up was Galway hat shop, we had so much fun in here trying all sorts of amazing hats and headpieces..and Azure kindly gifted us with some fabulous jewellery.
And so onto Treasure Chest Galway, which is celebrating 50 years in business , now that is remarkable, its such a beautiful store and their collections were unreal not to mention the Christmas section at the top of the store, we were spoilt by the ladies too.We also got to see Suzie Mahony designs along with up and coming Irish Designer Colin Burke, whose collection was breath taking.
And the beautiful collection from Colin Burke below.
After all the glamour of Treasure Chest, we scooted along to Willow , this was one shop I was very excited about, as I must confess I am their stalker on Snapchat 🙂 they had amazing selections and styles in store and the interior alone in the boutique is trendy and fabulous..one of my favourite stores and personal highlights on the Galway trail!
After all the fashion shows and stunning dresses it was time for a bit of food, and what better place than the most delicious restaurant Caprice Cafe off shop street in Church lane.
Caprice is beautiful and such a lovely ambiance in the restaurant not to mention mouthwatering food. Will definitely be back. Watered and feed we ploughed on and this time it was into Rococo Galway, this store in an interior designers dream, very tasteful, spacious and beautiful Scandinavian collections. I wasn’t familiar with Rococo before the trail and would love to revisit to have a nice potter inside again.
And with that we skipped over to Choice Boutique A lovely boutique but the style was more for the older ladies, I know I for one will be taking my mum back there for a visit and it was so affordable.
Kilkenny shop was our next landmark and I adore this store, it has fabulous collections and I love how they stock Irish designers too, they have stunning jewellery and gifts, and I nipped in early, for a little browse before the show began, they are so helpful there and very generous gifting us with a Dyrbergkern ring. Such a beautiful store, and its always a pleasure visiting here.
Our final but in no way least boutique was Harper Boutique which was another new store for me, it had beautiful occasional wear and some stunning pieces, will be paying a visit to here again for a longer look. Highly recommend it if your looking for an outfit for a wedding.
And then it was off for a well earned drink at The Front Door where we were treated to some delicious bites and cocktails. Love this bar and always nice to go back to visit an old haunt! Such a lovely atmosphere and ambiance there.
A huge thank you to all the sponsors Colm Quinn BMW, Golden Egg Production and to all the boutiques Colette Latchford, Greene’s Shoes featuring Galway Hat Shop, Treasure Chest, Willow, Rococo, Choice, Kilkenny and Harper. All eight shows proved how much Galway’s city boutique’s has to offer. And thank you to them for their huge generosity on the day. To the amazing and hard working Mandy and all her stunning models from Catwalk Models, 8 shows in one day is no mean feat! To Caprice and the Front Door for watering and feeding us, it was delicious. To the team at Golden Egg production for organising such a fantastic and well run day…just wish we could do it all over again next weekend …
Until next time
