Pleated skirts…keeping it semi casual!

FashionMy Style

IMG_5892

Pleated skirts are everywhere….similar to the tulle skirt…although not as fuller a skirt.

I love the pleated skirt, I was afraid of it at first as I always thought it would make my hips look larger than they were, but the way they have designed them with more of a floatier feel in the material, tends to sit better on my shape.

IMG_5853

The skirt is penneys and sits lovely, it feels so comfortable too, Asos are currently during a similar one here

IMG_5908

In fact the whole outfit is penneys apart from the headband which is new look and heels as before from Littlewoods for €15 here, the jumper is current stock and can be worn larger or neater which I went for, as my skirt was quiet floaty.

IMG_5859

As I said I paired it with nude heels but for an even more casual look you could pair it with white trainers and it would still look good

How to style a tulle skirt: Part 2

FashionMy Style

IMG_5780

Following up from my previous post on Tulle skirts, here’s another option and how I style mine! This is most definitely a more dressier take!

A tulle skirt always needs a little bit of sparkle to dress it up…now as you well know I’m guilty of this!! (The tulle skirt is as before from @Hazel Comyn designs)

My wardrobe would make a magpie proud…its insane, my husband is bewildered with the amount of loose sequins he finds on his clothes etc! But who can resist?

IMG_5791

This sequin piece is a cape that I picked up months back on Asos. I had no idea where I needed it for but I knew I loved it and had to have it! Low and behold it goes fabulously with a lot of pieces in the wardrobe. For €45 it was a bargain and you’ll find  a few similar ones here

IMG_5788

This is such a fun outfit, the plain white top underneath is penneys picked it up for €5 before summer, and it goes perfectly with the cape. Because there is so much detail in the cape you need to keep everything underneath plain and simple.

IMG_5749

The shoes are the same as the previous post and are an old pair from new look, but similar here

Again hope you like this look

Casual Series: Jeans from day to night

FashionMy StyleUncategorized

IMG_5694

Everyone loves jeans, not only because they go with absolutely everything but are easy to dress up or down

So I couldn’t do a post on jeans, without showing you how to dress from day to night…I had my flats on with these earlier in the day (see previous posts for nude flats ) but by popping on a pair of heels on in the evening I’m ready for a night out!

rsz_20160922_163035_resized

This Bomber is from  Vanilla Boutique and was reduced to €35, its perfect with jeans for day or night time. Its got embellished details running it through it which makes it a little bit dressier. I guess that’s one reason why I love bomber jackets too, they go with everything. Check out a previous post I did a few weeks back on some of my favourite bombers here

rsz_20160922_163004_resized

A closer look of the embellishments running through it!

IMG_5695

Popping a pair of heels can transform any outfit, these heels were a bargain from Littlewoods at €15 which you can find here

Jeans are just super to throw on with any top/jumper/jacket and head out the door, These ones again are the penneys jeans but some of my all time favourite pair of jeans are Salsa and Zara jeans.

Casual Series: Jeans Part 2

FashionMy Style

What a day guys, its been 90..none the less I said I’d follow up on this casual series, so here it is another casual look from my wardrobe

IMG_5712

So this is me casually lingering around pink walls!! Ha kidding..(Pic Emer @Irishfashaholic)…the whole outfit is Penneys best!!

From Shoes to Sweatshirt. I love this look as its so simple and easy to wear, great for running after my 2 year old rugrat, and flying around all day. The jumper I have paired with skirts and even a tulle for a nighttime look (Stay tuned for that one!)

IMG_5722

The jeans again are from Penneys (Primark) and are called “Boyfriend jeans”. Although in my opinion they are more fitted. They cost €15.

 IMG_5720

The jumper has a slashed neck which sits low on the shoulder, its so comfortable, its also slightly fitted on the bottom not giving it too slouchy a look!

rsz_img_5722 (2)

The heels again are Penneys (Primark) and are €11.

IMG_5710

Overall its a nice casual look for a lazy relaxing day, and grey is so big this season!

Hope you liked it

Until next time

The casual series: Jeans Part 1

FashionMy Style

Hey Guys

Another week and the cold weather is starting to creep in …with the odd mild day thrown in to try and completely confuse us all and make us unsure as to what to wear!! Its hot its cold!! I’m an Eskimo, wheres my bikini all in one day..Ok a little bit of an exaggeration but you catch my drift!

So for that reason alone, I figured I’d do a few casual looks to take you through the autumn weather…just simple looks. This first look below is one of my “go to” outfits as its just so easy to throw on but still looks nice.. I generally wear this on a week day to drop the kids to school or nip into town for one of my many shopping browses 🙂

IMG_5677

The beauty of this outfit is they are all standard pieces that you should have in the wardrobe. The navy blazer can go with anything apart from jeans,  pair it with dresses, tapered trousers, skirts, its a must have!

0142974105_0_6

Stripes are a fail safe option for any outfit, I love this top its from Cos (one of my favourite brands for casual gear, doesnt reshape in the wash even after a 100 washes! Result!) it goes with a lot of items in my wardrobe. I have paired it with a couple of skirts and other items apart from regular blue jeans. For €19 you can purchase here

IMG_5683

These jeans are penneys best…they are called boyfriend jeans but are more a skinny type style..I love them as they are so comfortable and even after every wash they don’t go out of shape..for €15 I’ll take it!!

rsz_20160919_173123_resized

The flat nude heels are Penneys for €11.

IMG_5680

And the bag was also penneys…seriously what would we do if Penneys didn’t exist?? This blazer is one i picked up a few months ago in Zara, their blazers are unreal and the quality is amazing! Similar blazer here

I’ll have other casual looks with jeans in the next few days so stay tuned!

Trending this Autumn/Winter 2016

FashionFashion and Beauty Blog

Hi Everyone,

So another season and more trends…and with that in mind what should one wear for the coming Autumn/Winter? There is lots of gorgeous bits and choice around for everyone. This season its all about the detail, inspiration for designers has been taken from the street, sport, film, fantasy, fairytale, modern art and miltary hence the highstreet has us spoilt for choice!

Oriental Print!

Take inspiration from the far east and add a touch of Orient to your wardrobe. Think floral, silken fabrics, and bright prints. There is plenty of this trend on the highstreet so its time to embrace this beautiful decadent trend.

Mad Metal!!

This trend is taking the fashion industry by storm, from footwear, to dresses. Wearing this metallic can be tricky so keep accessories to a minimum and if your going with metallic footwear keep the remaining outfit simple and casual. Think “sci fi fi”looks when it comes to this trend…not for the faint hearted!

Gothic Glam/Femme Fatale!

Gothic glam or the dark femme fatale is dominating the trends for Autumn/Winter. Floaty layers of sheer blacks, Glam goth with lace edgings and layers. Its about the sheer and lace and if you are to invest in one thing make it a sheer/lace top/blouse that can be worn with both denim and evening wear. With this trend keep the neckline high in tops and dresses and not only can you go dark black, try oxblood and midnight blues.

Bomber Jackets!

Bomber jackets are having their moment this year and are continuing to dominate the Autumn/Winter. The jacket doesn’t have to be a one hit wonder either, it can be worn with anything…jeans, tulle skirts, a mini dress with thigh high boots(which are also on trend for this season!) It doesn’t have to be a plain bomber either although the neutral colour palette will allow you wear it with anything. I’m particularly loving the embellished Bomber at the moment but then I am a bit of a magpie!

At the other extreme is the novelty bags with their quirky stamps and stars!

My style …Two toned senorita!

My Style

IMG_5166

I am loving the bare shoulders look (cut out shoulders should I say) at the moment, its perfect for hot weather or a night out. I was heading on holidays mid July and had a mad dash to get a few bits for holiday nights out…I spotted this dress on a rail in Zara. I knew before I ever tried it on that it was going into my wardrobe. I had so much fun shooting this with Emer @Irishfashaholic shes such a talented photograher.

IMG_5172

This dress has an amazing top part with its cut out shoulders, thats what sold it for me. It is so comfy yet sexy if that makes sense? And the fit is great and suits my shape.

IMG_5188

A better look at the top part

IMG_5163

It is a fitted dress that’s for sure, when you are pulling it over your head you’ll notice this. As its two tone, its complimentary due to the cut and the eye is drawn up to the top part of the dress. It doesnt stick in all the wrong places.  I paired it with my new look tan suede heels again you’ll find them here

IMG_5195

I wore this dress on holidays and each time I paired it with these @Alex&Ani bracelets. Now who doesn’t love these? I adore the messages and meanings behind these bracelets

IMG_5179

And in case your wondering girls, this little dress was a steal at €29.95. It is in stock in some Zara stores unfortunately it is not online, even when I wanted to order it online after seeing it initially I couldn’t find it so have a look in you local stores. But there is similar dresses to this (just different colours)here and here

Hope you enjoyed this post

Until next time
