The Handy Coat for throwing on over the christmas season

FashionMy Style

The handy coat for throwing on over the christmas season is one I picked up in Penneys of all places..

Its a good colour albeit its not that warm but that’s ok as I intend on wearing it thrown over outfits.

Its not the warmest of coats but at €40 it looks the part for evening time…I’m forever leaving my coat behind somewhere when I go out for dinner or drinks, as its so easy to leave them behind (nothing worse than leaving an expensive coat behind in a restaurant/bar never to be found again so this coat is perfect just to have!!). My intention when buying this, was solely for wearing going out for dinner or Christmas drinks…

Checked Trousers

The other reason for choosing this Coat was it ll be perfect for the spring too when the weather is a lot less colder so I can transition to spring/summer…

Penneys coat

Its a great colour as it goes with everything, I paired it with the checked trousers and black jumper but goes really well with grey colours too. In the spring I will wear it with blue jeans and pumped. The Grey culottes here are from a previous post, picked them up from Born Clothing and the boat neck jumper was penneys last year but you’ll find similar in penneys at the moment for €14.

Lost ink Culottes

I particular love the shape and lenght of this coat. It can be worn with dresses as it sits just at the knee and has subtle side splits. I also love that its belted. Its shape is almost bat winged on the shoulder sleeves area which makes it slightly over sized on top but fitted on the bottom. It is rather chic.

Now as I said its not that warm so you’d need to layer it up if you intend on buying it for every day wear, although in my opinion if its an every day winter coat you are looking for this isn’t going to keep you warm and you are better off investing in better quality.

I’m all for buying a good winter coat and spending a lot more than €40 for a good one. But as I said this is worth buying if you are looking to just have something to throw on over your outfit for a night out  or a light coat for Spring!!

Hope you enjoyed this

Until next time

Body suits…the classy style

FashionMy Style

Bodysuits love them or hate them they can be so ideal under certain trousers or skirts…I remember years ago I got a shirt version from benneton and loved it. I wore it to work with trousers and it was ideal as it didnt fall out over your trousers by the end of the day..so you get my drift why they are so handy, no tucking or pulling at your top or shirt as it sits in place….

When I saw this bodysuit from Zara I know it would go with everything , its such a nice fit and has a satin feel (its not satin though its polyester)

As you can see from above, bodysuits wont budge when you’re sitting down and are so comfy, I love the large lapels on this one, the v neck is great for larger busts. If you are self conscious of it gapping you can also throw on a cami underneath (I have done this before and its still looks perfect). With bodysuits they tend to sit in place and hold everything together. This top has shoulder pads too which suits my shape but fear not they are removable!

These trousers I picked up in Born Clothing, they are by a label called Lost ink, who design pieces that are a little bit quirky. These wool culottes are my current favourite thing in the wardrobe and they go with numerous tops and jumpers. They were a great buy and really warm for this type of weather. You will find them available in Born Clothing in wilton so maybe check with them, they were great value at €54.99 but unfortunately and unsurprising they are sold out online.

These earrings girls were an absolute bargain …I bought them on aliexpress for €2.95 and I love them, that included delivery by the way!! You will find loads of fab pieces and you’ll find the exact pair above here.

So if you are apprehensive about buying a bodysuit dont be ladies as they are quiet comfy (even though its more time consuming in the bathroom!!) but they are nice and neat tucked into skirts or trousers and you wont have the fear of having to fix yourself all night!

Hope you enjoyed…

Until next time

Back to school back to blogging

Fashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

So the little ones are gone back to school…and its back to blogging with a bang……

Its always good to take time off from blogging, I know it may seem likes its pretty easy this blogging lark but to be honest it can take over, its a constant 24/7 if you allow it and it can be demanding..its hard to switch off and not reply instantly to the private messages you can get at any hour for people looking for advice or information. But I love what I do and I love helping people who have a fashion question or problem.

The reason I set up the blog was because I love fashion and I love helping those who find it frustrating or just struggle putting things together. Now and then its demanding so in the summer months I vowed to take a step back ..and take time off, time off to spend quality time with my gorgeous girls and family.

And what a summer we had, we traveled for 4 weeks across the states an experience I hope my girls will never forget. We spend quality time with my fabulous sister Jill and her beautiful kids…the remainder of the summer was spent by the Irish coast by the beach making memories!

It was the break I needed to get away from the world of social media and all that goes with it! So back and refreshed and ready to tackle the seasons ahead 🙂

So expect lots of fashion post in the next few months

Love

Embroidered tops

Uncategorized

Embroidered tops, who else is obsessing about these?…I have I’d safely say about ten of them hanging in my wardrobe…much to my hubbies amusement..he reckons they are all the same or morphed into the same top!!

Embroidered top

This newest obsession above is from Zara, and it is so comfy especially with the humidity lately. It literally goes with everything and a super top to just throw on and look dressed up!

noisy may

I love the bell sleeves on this one too, sleeves are really having their moment this season aren’t they?..and I love the bell sleeve once its not down to my elbows otherwise I have an almighty mess at the end of the sleeve from mum duties!! You get the picture!

summertop

I paired this with these super soft jeans from Noisy may and are incredible value ..these have been worn and washed now about 50 times!! New Look heels are old stock unfortunately but they do have similar online.

A little close up of the top above. As you can see the embroidery is really pretty and its a gorgeous cotton top..I have worn this with a denim skirt and also paired it with shorts and white jeans and red heels. It washes really well and doesn’t loose its shape.. It really is a bargain buy and you’ll find the details of where to purchase here

A huge thank you to my brother Derek for these pics and to the Sheraton Athlone Hotel for use of their amazing rooms..

Hope you enjoyed this look and any questions just ask me

Until next time

Summertime tops

FashionMy Style

Summertime tops are being pulled out and bought galore by me that is..There’s nothing nicer than tops that you can wear with white jeans or shorts and that are breathable!

Ones that you can throw on for a summer barbecue or a day time look . And that will pass as a night time look if you plan on staying out late!! Not asking for much am I? I love those kind of tops and this one is just the perfect one for that kind of occasion!

This stop was a steal from Zara and I love that there is lovely little subtle detailing on the neckline and Sleeve and hem line. It has fab bell sleeves and the lace embroidered detail is beautiful.  You can see the top in more detail here

I paired this top with white jeans  from River Island (old stock) as its gives it a great summery look and the heels are New look which you’ll find here.

The open back is lovely too again subtle but elegant details!

This top can be easily worn with shorts too and what I love about it is that its such a dressy simple look. Its the perfect summer top as the material is mainly made out of cotton and very breathable! It has an uneven hem as in it dips at the back again another thing I love about it. Covering everything so I don’t ask the question  does my bum look big in this 🙂

The pics were taking by my talented brother Derek and a huge thank you to the Sheraton Athlone Hotel for allowing us use one of their stunning rooms with amazing views, if you are ever looking for a hotel in the midlands then this is definitely one hotel you need to book!

If you have any questions about the look please feel free to message me. This top is one of my favourites at the moment and such great value!

Hope you liked it

Until next time

Printed Blazer..my favourite piece in the wardrobe

FashionMy Style

This printed Blazer is without a doubt my most covet piece in the wardrobe at the moment. I love a good blazer I think we all do, I have a good few hanging in the wardrobe, all different colours. Some for the colder spring months and early autumn and then the summer ones, but I’ve never had a dressy going out blazer that you’d wear as a top!

The moment I spotted this silky blazer I fell in love…I knew even by looking at it on a hanger it was going to be fab on!  After trying it on I was in love, totally my style and a little quirky.

The back is just as pretty as the front with the swan print, and I just love how tailored it is. The silk material makes it lovely and dressy for a night out.

The belt of the blazer was a bit tricky at first to figure out. Its like a obi belt but the widest part of the belt goes to the front and then you wrap the rest of it around your waist tying a bow (the thinnest part of the belt) over the widest part at the front (I had a few of you inquiring about this on snap chat!) I pair it with a nude camisole (this one is from Dunnes) but you can also pair a black cami or a bralette underneath if your daring enough, I would love to but I’m a bit too top heavy to nail the bralette look!

I have this blazer a good while now, over a month but thankfully it is still in stock. I picked it up in Zara and was €79.95 definitely a bit more expensive that my usual purchases but absolutely worth every penny. I love it! It is still in stock and you can also find it online here. I paired it with my River Island Leathers but unfortunately they are no longer in stock. You will find similar here.

Hope you enjoyed this look

Until next time

A little lace top!

FashionMy Style

I’m always drawn to lace ..for me it never dates and its always good to have a little lace top (white preferably) hanging in the wardrobe. It goes with everything and you can mix it up with skirts, jeans or trousers.

This one I picked up in the January sales in Stradivarius, but even since then I have seen similar everywhere. And I’m not surprised as they are so dressy for day or nighttime and suit every kind of shape. This is slightly shorter so will suit a petite figure. But I have seen longer lengths to suit taller or longer torso s.

I paired this with my grey jeans from Noisy may which you’ll find here but I have also worn this with blush pink trousers and tulle skirts too. In the summer I pair it with denim shorts and it looks fab. (I’ll show you another picture below)

The heels are old from Savida, but they have a similar darker pair in stock at the moment. I wear this outfit during the day and it can also be worn at night.

Like I mentioned these type of lace tops never date so don’t afraid to purchase one if you are not already an owner..I guarantee you this type of top will be the one that you pull out from your wardrobe to wear, time and time again. As this was purchased in January I have found similar ones for you here, here herehere and here

As I said above I have also paired this top with Blush pants from Zara and nude heels and it goes perfectly together too. See pic below.

I hope you enjoyed this post and if you have any questions just drop me a message

Casual outfit wearing Grey jeans Part 1

FashionFashion and Beauty BlogUncategorized

I love a casual outfit particular grey jeans, they are that one colour that seems to go with everything. I completely forgot about this pair hanging in the wardrobe. And when I pulled them out I couldn’t resist popping them on and wearing them with everything else grey in my wardrobe 🙂

Casual Outfit

They re the kind of jeans that go with all types of colours, I’d normally pair them with a white top, or pink jumper, denim shirt , you have endless choices. These jeans are actually from Tesco F&F clothing. At the time prior to buying them, I had been to-ing and fro-ing about buying grey jeans as I wasn’t sure whether I’d wear them or not. I bought these ones for €28 they are body shaping ones and are quiet nice. They actually still stock them. Since I pulled them out I have begun to love wearing the grey jeans and will be in investing in more pairs. These ones are been worn to death!

sleeveless coat

In order to keep it a casual outfit look, I paired them with a fine knit Zara jumper, I love the detail on the sleeve it has pearls and a slight frill, which makes it very pretty and easy to dress up. You can find it here.

Grey waistcoat

I threw this New look sleeveless coat over the whole outfit as its still quiet cold out. I love this one as I wear it with everything, I bought it over a year ago but they did bring it back in again this year. However they appear to be sold out at the moment. Oasis has a similar one in the sale and available here.

leopard print

Of course me being me, I had to add a little bit of fun to the outfit and to lift it a bit, hence the leopard print heels. I think they actually work with the outfit and are a nice change to a block coloured heel. They are fun too, these heels are old from New look but there is similar available here and here.

I’ll have more looks on how to style a grey pair of jeans and let me know how you style them?

Until next time

Communions and what to wear Part 1

Fashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

IMG_7121

Around this time I always get the private messages from my fabulous girls looking for a communion/confirmation outfit. Whatever it is there is always a panic about what to wear for these two particular occasions. Is it because its neither a wedding or a dinner and its somewhere in between?..I guess we all seem to put pressure on ourselves for these particular occasions. Unnecessary pressure too, seriously girls if you think hard enough about it, I’d bet you have something sitting in your wardrobe already you just haven’t thought about how to wear it differently.

For example take this skirt in the pic above, this is old about a year or two old. Its a Penney’s skirt a bargain buy and as I have two communions this year to my two equally gorgeous nieces, I’ve had to wreck my brains and wardrobe as to what to wear as I don’t want to purchase something new that I might never wear again! Hence why this skirt was pulled out.

IMG_7103

Its a neutral pink colour and can be matched with all different types of other colours, grey’s, whites you name it. I know there is similar skirts available here here, & here. Its a nice colour and the midi lenght is suitable for this type of occasion.  The beauty about the colour of this skirt is its always in season, and perfect for summer too. Its always good to have a neutral colour skirt like this hanging in the wardrobe as you’ll wear it over and over again.

IMG_7116

I paired it with a lace tshirt I picked up before christmas in Zara. They are still in stock as they are proving to be very popular and go with absolutely everything in the wardrobe. At €17.95 they are so affordable too. You’ll find them here, just make sure you pair them with high waisted skirts or jeans as it is a slight bit short in lenght. Lace tends to look good with everything and this two together work perfectly and are dressy enough for a communion.

The shoes are Savida and old stock but any nude heel/sandal or black heels will work with an outfit like this.

IMG_7108

I’ll pull together more looks in the next few days to help you figure out what to wear, I also think girls, skirts and tops are a nice change to wearing dresses for these type of occasion. Plus you have more of a chance of wearing the outfit again be it a top with jeans or the skirt with a different type of top.

Hope this helps and stay tuned for more

Until next time

Love Pam
