Back to school back to blogging

Fashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

So the little ones are gone back to school…and its back to blogging with a bang……

Its always good to take time off from blogging, I know it may seem likes its pretty easy this blogging lark but to be honest it can take over, its a constant 24/7 if you allow it and it can be demanding..its hard to switch off and not reply instantly to the private messages you can get at any hour for people looking for advice or information. But I love what I do and I love helping people who have a fashion question or problem.

The reason I set up the blog was because I love fashion and I love helping those who find it frustrating or just struggle putting things together. Now and then its demanding so in the summer months I vowed to take a step back ..and take time off, time off to spend quality time with my gorgeous girls and family.

And what a summer we had, we traveled for 4 weeks across the states an experience I hope my girls will never forget. We spend quality time with my fabulous sister Jill and her beautiful kids…the remainder of the summer was spent by the Irish coast by the beach making memories!

It was the break I needed to get away from the world of social media and all that goes with it! So back and refreshed and ready to tackle the seasons ahead šŸ™‚

So expect lots of fashion post in the next few months

Love

Embroidered tops

Uncategorized

Embroidered tops, who else is obsessing about these?…I have I’d safely say about ten of them hanging in my wardrobe…much to my hubbies amusement..he reckons they are all the same or morphed into the same top!!

Embroidered top

This newest obsession above is from Zara, and it is so comfy especially with the humidity lately. It literally goes with everything and a super top to just throw on and look dressed up!

noisy may

I love the bell sleeves on this one too, sleeves are really having their moment this season aren’t they?..and I love the bell sleeve once its not down to my elbows otherwise I have an almighty mess at the end of the sleeve from mum duties!! You get the picture!

summertop

I paired this with these super soft jeans fromĀ Noisy mayĀ and are incredible value ..these have been worn and washed now about 50 times!! New Look heels are old stock unfortunately but they do have similar online.

Ā A little close up of the top above. As you can see the embroidery is really pretty and its a gorgeous cotton top..I have worn this with a denim skirt and also paired it with shorts and white jeans and red heels. It washes really well and doesn’t loose its shape.. It really is a bargain buy and you’ll find the details of where to purchaseĀ here

A huge thank you to my brother Derek for these pics and to theĀ Sheraton Athlone HotelĀ for use of their amazing rooms..

Hope you enjoyed this look and any questions just ask me

Until next time

Summertime tops

FashionMy Style

Summertime tops are being pulled out and bought galore by me that is..There’s nothing nicer than tops that you can wear with white jeans or shorts and that are breathable!

Ones that you can throw on for a summer barbecue or a day time look . And that will pass as a night time look if you plan on staying out late!! Not asking for much am I? I love those kind of tops and this one is just the perfect one for that kind of occasion!

This stop was a steal from Zara and I love that there is lovely little subtle detailing on the neckline and Sleeve and hem line. It has fab bell sleeves and the lace embroidered detail is beautiful. Ā You can see the top in more detailĀ here

I paired this top with white jeans Ā from River Island (old stock) as its gives it a great summery look and the heels are New look which you’ll findĀ here.

The open back is lovely too again subtle but elegant details!

This top can be easily worn with shorts too and what I love about it is that its such a dressy simple look. Its the perfect summer top as the material is mainly made out of cotton and very breathable! It has an uneven hem as in it dips at the back again another thing I love about it. Covering everything so I don’t ask the question Ā does my bum look big in this šŸ™‚

The pics were taking by my talented brother Derek and a huge thank you to theĀ Sheraton Athlone HotelĀ for allowing us use one of their stunning rooms with amazing views, if you are ever looking for a hotel in the midlands then this is definitely one hotel you need to book!

If you have any questions about the look please feel free to message me. This top is one of my favourites at the moment and such great value!

Hope you liked it

Savida’s Perfect Red & Pink Print Dress, ideal for bursting into the Spring Summer Season!

FashionMy Style

SavidaSavida’s red and pink print dress is an absolutely beauty to wear throughout Spring/Summer. This dress was kindly given to my by Savida forĀ Dunnes Stores. It has the most beautiful print and such vibrant colours, I instantly fell in love.

dress

It is an unbelievably flattering dress as its seam waisted and skims the stomach area. I love the fact it is midi lenght and even at 5’5 it is perfect for me. It is such a high quality dress, with 100% polyester lining, and even after washing it (which you can do at a 40 degree wash) it hasn’t lost it shape or vibrancy!

daytime dress

Its always so hard to find a nice dress with long sleeves and this one from Savida is perfect, I know I keep mentioning it but I cannot get over the quality. This dress is ā‚¬50 but in my opinion it looks way more expensive and such good value

I paired a belt with the dress as it cinches and defines the waist even more but you don’t need to do this at all. It looks good with or without a belt.

I wore the Savida dress with these New look block heels as I feel they’ll work in the daytime and nighttime during the summer months. And I’ve even worn this dress with beige ankle boots and it looks fab. Its the perfect dress from going from day to evening time, its so versatile which is another reason I love it so much. The bag is TK Maxx and was ā‚¬19.99. You’ll find the heels hereĀ and more importantly you will find the dressĀ here onlineĀ and it is also available in stores now!

So girls I’d advise you hightail it to Savida Ā fairly rapidly, as since wearing this dress at an event last Saturday, I have been inundated with questions about it and I know a few of you managed to snap it up..its amazing and even better in real life!!

Hope you enjoyed the post and I’ll have loads more looks to follow

Until next time

LoveĀ

PS. These gorgeous pics were taking by none other than my talented Brother Derek Cassells.

Casual outfit wearing Grey jeans Part 1

FashionFashion and Beauty BlogUncategorized

I love a casual outfit particular grey jeans, they are that one colour that seems to go with everything. I completely forgot about this pair hanging in the wardrobe. And when I pulled them out I couldn’t resist popping them on and wearing them with everything else grey in my wardrobe šŸ™‚

Casual Outfit

They re the kind of jeans that go with all types of colours, I’d normally pair them with a white top, or pink jumper, denim shirt , you have endless choices. These jeans are actually from Tesco F&F clothing. At the time prior to buying them, I had been to-ing and fro-ing about buying grey jeans as I wasn’t sure whether I’d wear them or not. I bought these ones for ā‚¬28 they are body shaping ones and are quiet nice. They actually still stock them. Since I pulled them out I have begun to love wearing the grey jeans and will be in investing in more pairs. These ones are been worn to death!

sleeveless coat

In order to keep it a casual outfit look, I paired them with a fine knit Zara jumper, I love the detail on the sleeve it has pearls and a slight frill, which makes it very pretty and easy to dress up. You can find itĀ here.

Grey waistcoat

I threw this New look sleeveless coat over the whole outfit as its still quiet cold out. I love this one as I wear it with everything, I bought it over a year ago but they did bring it back in again this year. However they appear to be sold out at the moment. Oasis has a similar one in the sale and availableĀ here.

leopard print

Of course me being me, I had to add a little bit of fun to the outfit and to lift it a bit, hence the leopard print heels. I think they actually work with the outfit and are a nice change to a block coloured heel. They are fun too, these heels are old from New look but there is similar availableĀ hereĀ andĀ here.

I’ll have more looks on how to style a grey pair of jeans and let me know how you style them?

Until next time

Love PamĀ

Keeping it girlie with a Bomber jacket

Fashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

IMG_5836

Previously I posted a fab bomber jacket from Vanilla Boutique, and I think I’m currently having a love affair with bombers lately.

They are so easy to just thrown on over anything…this time round I threw them on with a cute skirt, and anything that’s not to hard to dress up or down is always a winner in my books!

IMG_5844

This bomber I picked up in new look in the sale for ā‚¬18, couldnt just leave it there at that price. its a lovely comfy bomber, and the material is soft and breathable not stiff! Some sizes availableĀ here.

IMG_5839

The skirt is so comfy and its a fine knit kick out hem skirt from Penneys, there are still some available at the moment. Fringe boots are oldies from Dunne Stores. But you can find similarĀ here.

IMG_5835

The black jumper underneath is Zara which I picked up last year but its a basic piece so they restock it every season and you’ll find it online here.

My hair was styled by the fabulous Aisling all her details areĀ hereĀ and I popped a hairband in from New Look that cost me ā‚¬4.99, my latest obsession by the way!!

All pics were by the Emer Irish FashaholicĀ  whose talents are never ending..

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did shooting these pics

Pleated skirts…keeping it semi casual!

FashionMy Style

IMG_5892

Pleated skirts are everywhere….similar to the tulle skirt…although not as fuller a skirt.

I love the pleated skirt, I was afraid of it at first as I always thought it would make my hips look larger than they were, but the way they have designed them with more of a floatier feel in the material, tends to sit better on my shape.

IMG_5853

The skirt is penneys and sits lovely, it feels so comfortable too, Asos are currently during a similar oneĀ here

IMG_5908

In fact the whole outfit is penneys apart from the headband which is new look and heels as before from Littlewoods for ā‚¬15Ā here, the jumper is current stock and can be worn larger or neater which I went for, as my skirt was quiet floaty.

IMG_5859

As I said I paired it with nude heels but for an even more casual look you could pair it with white trainers and it would still look good

How to style a tulle skirt: Part 2

FashionMy Style

IMG_5780

Following up from my previous post on Tulle skirts, here’s another option and how I style mine! This is most definitely a more dressier take!

A tulle skirt always needs a little bit of sparkle to dress it up…now as you well know I’m guilty of this!! (The tulle skirt is as before from @Hazel Comyn designs)

My wardrobe would make a magpie proud…its insane, my husband is bewildered with the amount of loose sequins he finds on his clothes etc! But who can resist?

IMG_5791

This sequin piece is a cape that I picked up months back on Asos. I had no idea where I needed it for but I knew I loved it and had to have it! Low and behold it goes fabulously with a lot of pieces in the wardrobe. For ā‚¬45 it was a bargain and you’ll find Ā a few similar onesĀ here

IMG_5788

This is such a fun outfit, the plain white top underneath is penneys picked it up for ā‚¬5 before summer, and it goes perfectly with the cape. Because there is so much detail in the cape you need to keep everything underneath plain and simple.

IMG_5749

The shoes are the same as the previous post and are an old pair from new look, but similarĀ here

Again hope you like this look

How to dress a tulle skirt!

FashionMy Style

IMG_5731

It was all the rage last year and still sticking around this year but perhaps in darker colours…none the less the tulle skirt is here to stay!

I love a tulle skirt, always have a princess moment when I throw one on!! Notions!!! haha This beauty is from Hazel Comyn design. Hazel an Irish designer has amazing pieces and will be featuring her new collection at Cork Fashion week in the next few weeks. Find more beautiful piecesĀ here

They are so feminine and can be worn anyway and still look fabulous. In this post and the next, I’ll share how I dress mine!!

IMG_5751

I love to throw sweatshirts or jumpers over them. And this is one of my favourite ways to wear them. Because a tulle is so dressy its nice to throw something casual on with them (If you don’t want to go all out!!). The beauty about Hazels tulle skirts is you can turn them inside out and wear it as a satin skirt, so its like getting two skirts for one!! Amazing!

IMG_5760

I paired it with this Penneys boat neck fine knit jumper, its just so comfy, goes nicely with the skirt as its not too fussy, just nice and plain. The earrings are parfois for ā‚¬7.99. Hair was by the fabulous Aisling Kelleher who is a Freelance Bridal & Event hair specialist, I mean she literally done this upstyle in 2 mins no joke!! Shes amazing…find Aisling’s detailsĀ here

IMG_5749

The shoes are old from New Look (Bit dressy for this outfit but I would also pair flats or white sneakers with this look) Similar heelsĀ here

IMG_5746

Pics are by Emer @Irishfashaholic, I can’t tell you enough how much fun we have during these days shooting, Emer has an amazing talent behind the lens!

Hope you guys like the look!

Trending this Autumn/Winter 2016

FashionFashion and Beauty Blog

Hi Everyone,

So another season and more trends…and with that in mind what should one wear for the coming Autumn/Winter? There is lots of gorgeous bits and choice around for everyone. This season its all about the detail, inspiration for designers has been taken from the street, sport, film, fantasy, fairytale, modern art and miltary hence the highstreet has us spoilt for choice!

Oriental Print!

Take inspiration from the far east and add a touch of Orient to your wardrobe. Think floral, silken fabrics, and bright prints. There is plenty of this trend on the highstreet so its time to embrace this beautiful decadent trend.

Mad Metal!!

This trend is taking the fashion industry by storm, from footwear, to dresses. Wearing this metallic can be tricky so keep accessories to a minimum and if your going with metallic footwear keep the remaining outfit simple and casual. Think “sci fi fi”looks when it comes to this trend…not for the faint hearted!

Khaki Staples!

Whether its an army shirt, parka or utility trousers, every girls should own a military inspired piece this season. Such an easy trend to wear. Team Khaki shirts with Denim and a pair of killer heels! Don’t forget to add those statement accessories!! You’re in the Army now!

Gothic Glam/Femme Fatale!

Gothic glam or the dark femme fatale is dominating the trends for Autumn/Winter. Floaty layers of sheer blacks, Glam goth with lace edgings and layers. Its about the sheer and lace and if you are to invest in one thing make it a sheer/lace top/blouse that can be worn with both denim and evening wear. With this trend keep the neckline high in tops and dresses and not only can you go dark black, try oxblood and midnight blues.

Bomber Jackets!

Bomber jackets are having their moment this year and are continuing to dominate the Autumn/Winter. The jacket doesn’t have to be a one hit wonder either, it can be worn with anything…jeans, tulle skirts, a mini dress with thigh high boots(which are also on trend for this season!) It doesn’t have to be a plain bomber either although the neutral colour palette will allow you wear it with anything. I’m particularly loving the embellished Bomber at the moment but then I am a bit of a magpie!

Bag it up!!

Loving the burst of colour and fresh new styles that has landed in our highstreet stores. Not to mention the simple shape bags around that have muted tones with minimal fuss (the mustard bag in the center is a perfect example of this trend!). At the other extreme is the novelty bags with their quirky stamps and stars!
