My style ..Intricate lace

FashionMy Style

IMG_5132 (1)

I love soft colours and lace together, its always so eloquent and never dates. This look has been in my wardrobe for a while I’ve worn it a number of times but never quiet got around to shooting it. Its one of those outfits that can be worn for any occasion, christening, a girlie lunch, communion/confirmation, you name it!

IMG_5156

The Top I have a long time and ordered it from Chicwish, It is so versatile goes with numerous things in my wardrobe, you can dress it up or down. Its incredibly comfortable too. I loved it so much I picked up the black version too…I know thats bad haha but its just so nice! It was €35 and you can find it here. The sunglasses are Steve Madden and another investment from TK Maxx for a mere €26.99

IMG_5149

For this look I paired it with a pale pink colour trousers from Zara for €29.95, they are more a chino type trousers and can be paired with white trainers/converse too! Similar ones here. The heels are old but nude heels would look just as good.

IMG_5143

Its a simple look but quiet elegant, lace never dates and this top is certainly a bargain.

Hope you liked this post as much as I enjoyed shooting it.

Until next time

Vintage series …Vintage Dresses Part 2

FashionMy Style

At this stage guys, you will be aware of my collaboration with Miss Daisy blue here in Cork. It was so much fun playing dress up and the choice was phenomenal especially when it came to dresses. I have come to the realization that  if I had to go back in time, the 1950 era would have suited me perfectly. An hourglass figure dominated the look of the 1950s. With cinched-in waistlines and accentuated hips and busts, the style was a decidedly mature one. And this below epitomes this look and was one of the reasons I was drawn to it.

IMG_5358

With its tight cinched waist, billowing skirt, and pronounced bust line , it oozes the early 1950’s” wasp waist” silhouette.

IMG_5349

I loved the fullness of this skirt and there appears to be a built in petticoat underneath which wouldn’t have been uncommon in this era. Normally  the skirt could be worn with a petticoat underneath to give it added fullness or with a thin slip for easier movement. It also has layers of tulle and a satin fabric on the waist of the dress. It is simply divine!

IMG_5362

The detail on the back has been given as much attention as the front. I loved the ladylike bow that is used to fastening the back of the dress. How amazing is the quality of this dress given that it is vintage?

IMG_5382

The length of this dress was so apt for 1950’s as back then after the war ended they shortened the length a little from ankle to mid length or just below the knee. This is still very popular today in 2016 and this dress would be perfect for a wedding, races or even for a bride to be, if she wanted something a little different. I love the scooped neckline on this dress & with the draped fabric it oozes elegance. The pale pink pastel colour is beautiful and emphasizes the sophistication of the dress.

IMG_5399 (1)

I paired this vintage beauty with pom pom heels I picked up from River Island in the sale for €42 similar colour here

The dress is from Miss Daisy blue and all their details are available here it was roughly €270 & worth every penny!

All pics are by the amazingly talented Emer @Irishfashaholic, it was a super day and I felt like a princess in this dress

Vintage Series, Vintage Dresses Part 1

FashionMy Style

IMG_5256

As per my previous post I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to collaborate with the lovely @MissDaisyBlue Vintage Boutique and Emer @irishfashaholic. (All pics below by Emer from @Irishfashaholic). Breda has a serious eye for exquisite vintage pieces and do pop over to her here and facebook and into their amazing store if you’re in cork!

My love for vintage never dies, if those clothes could talk wouldn’t we have some amazing stories. This beautiful dress caught my eye immediately when I payed a visit to the store. The colour was eye popping but also something you could wear today. Clothes are timeless pieces if they are bought right and vintage clothes are a true example of this!

IMG_5254

The Structure of this dress and the quality was and is amazing for a 1950’s era dress. It was appox €145 which is insane for such a quality vintage piece!

IMG_5271

I loved the pleated skirt on this and it was just below the knee, it felt amazing on. Cant you tell with all my twirling? The High neck with the pussy bow was so cute. It was the most comfortable dress and definitely a wow piece you could wear to a wedding as a guest or even the races. The condition of the dress is unreal and exquisite. And I love how the style compliments the figure with the trademark of the 50’s cinched in waist!

IMG_5272

I adored this dress but wait for my next post, I’m showing you another dress from Miss Daisy blue from that same era, and where I had my princess moment!

Stay tuned!

Until next time

So last weekend I had the pleasure of collaborating with Miss Daisy blue (all thanks to Emer @Irishfashaholic)

I have always loved potttering around this boutique as its the most unique quirky vintage shop I have seen.

20160716_155221_resized  20160716_155230_resized

And Breda and all the ladies are so lovely and very helpful. While playing dress up I chatted to Breda about where she sourced her clothing. She flies to Europe and the states to find amazing pieces and she has a fabulous eye!! Its like a treasure haven for vintage lovers, but also the perfect place to find a unique piece to upstyle with something current in your wardrobe.

In the next few days I will be posting some beautiful pieces I styled and cant wait to show you guys. Trust me if you are not a vintage lover I will convert you!!!

In the meantime have a look at the beautiful interior of Miss Daisy blue it is amazing and the collections in store are beautiful, there is something for everyone. Beautiful high quality sequin tops, delicate laces, loud floral 60s shirts, dresses and beautiful evening gowns.

20160716_155144_resized_1  20160716_150617_resized

While pottering around and playing dress up I came to the realisation that the 1950’s clothing are my favourite, especially the dresses, I also mourned how we don’t manufacture clothing as well as they used to in years gone by. The detailing and the tailoring in vintage clothes are amazing!! No sequins or beads popping off as you try on the garments, the quality is of the highest standard, and the boning in some of the dresses are beautiful and incredibly flattering.

20160716_150504_resized_2  20160716_150514_resized_2  20160716_155155_resized_1

I was wishing I had hundreds of events to go to, as there was so much beautiful stock in Breda’s store, at one stage a lovely young girl popped in with her mum to find her debs dress, it was amazing and I wished I had thought of that when my debs were on!!

20160716_150522_resized 20160716_150556_resized 20160716_153807_resized_1

And if I havent convinced you that this is one of the best vintage shops in Ireland, their award for best vintage store from Xpose Frockadvisor is proof!! And well and truly deserved.

20160716_155203_resized_1

So ladies if you are down south and in Cork do pop in and visit it as its such a little gem….cant wait to show you how I upstyled some of their amazing pieces

Until next time

My style… floral prints

Fashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

For the whole summer I’ve been loving floral prints. It’s a nice change to see colour injected into the clothes in the form of floral prints. And this is here to stay for autumn winter.

I didn’t venture too much into the stores during the sales, the fact that I was moving house may have prevented that happening too! I did however manage to pop into @athlonetowncentre while at home and spotted this fab River Island skirt for €18 in the sale

IMG_5205

As it wasn’t in my size the girls in River island @athlonetowncentre ordered it online for me and were so helpful having it delivered to my nearest River Island store.

IMG_5235-3

I paired it with a bardot top from@ vanillaboutique which I love you can purchase it here and similar here

IMG_5237-3

A closer look at the Skirt, you can find similar here

Its such a comfy skirt and paired with a denim shirt it would be a super day time look.

IMG_5239-3

The earrings are from Parfois (I love parfois as its so inexpensive and you can get some fabulous accessories there have a look for yourselves here

IMG_5221-3

I love TK Maxx in @Athlonetowncenter and I picked up these sunnies for a steal at €16.99, they are Valentino! (TK maxx is great for that kind of thing) Bag is Carvela (as featured before, bought it in @Debenhams) Shoes are from a shoe shop in Donegal. A steal at €20!

River Island Autumn Winter 2016 #RIAW16

FashionFashion and Beauty Blog

DSC_0801

Hey Ladies

So last week, I had the opportunity to get a peek at the new Autumn Winter range for River Island.

It was stunning, For Autumn Winter 2016 River Island have created a new and exciting collection with Opulent fabrics featuring throughout expect lots of pastel colours to break up the moody colour palette of greens, reds, blacks and navy.

DSC_0800

For this collection there’s a broad array of prints from animal, to floral, striped to tartan adds a fun and youthful edge.
A  Victoriana inspired DECADENCE is stylish and elegant with a unique and contemporary spin.

DSC_0817

A dark story of bottle greens, oxblood reds and khakis are contrasted with pastel pink and peach accents.

DSC_0814

Prints are key, with paisley and vintage florals worn head to toe. Luxe fabrics of faux fur, velvet and lace add texture whilst ruffled layers create volume.

DSC_0808

Dresses take on a glamorous approach with high necklines, cold shoulders and floaty hems. Leopard print coats and Victoriana blouses are paired with candy pink buckle boots for a feminine feel with a slight 70s influence.

For the evening, metallics come out to play in the form of sequins, knee high boots and full length dresses.

DSC_0843

Unusual colour combinations of earthy tones are mixed with bright yellows and pastels. Textures of frayed tweed, fringing, studs and embroidery add a tough girl dimension to the collection.

DSC_0817

Outerwear is key with bombers, bikers, shearling lined denim jackets and overshirts worn over A-line mini dresses to create a wearable collection for a cool daytime look. Tartan, polka dots and leopard prints are worn clashed and co-ordinated.

DSC_0824

DSC_0818Theres a 90s influence capturing clean masculine dressing with a sporty twist. The bold colour palette of cobalt blue, white and grey are clashed with bolts of orange and red.

DSC_0844

Tracksuit jackets, crop tops, jumpsuits and bodies provide a youthful element whilst trousers take on a loose fit for a relaxed approach.

Accessories and Footwear oozes 70’s vibes and chokers are here to stay!

My style: Stripes are alright! Keep it simple!

My Style

Hey my lovelies,

Yet another post on my style, my way..I have this secret obsession with stripes!!

I can never get enough of them, but you know what? they are a must have for any wardrobe. Stripes in any type top or jumper are such a classic piece and never date! They look great with blazers, coats or paired with jeans. And their biggest advantage is they are so practical!

This one above, I had been lusting over for an age, and when in +Athlone Towncentre Shopping Centre , one day with my sister I spotted it back in stock. Its from Zara for €29.95, available here, I love the material, its a fine knit with a stretch in it and its so comfy.

The thing about this sweater that appealed to me most is the high neck on it. I’m not a huge fan of polo necks maybe because I don’t have a long neck, so this type of style suits me better!

I know its coming into the Summer so the likelihood of getting lots of wear out of it in the next few months is slim, although it is Ireland and the Irish weather can be unpredictable. One things for sure, it will be pulled out of the wardrobe for autumn.

The sunglasses are Guess, that I picked up in +TK Maxx, I swear by it girls, TK Maxx has a great selection of sunnies for fabulous prices, you just need to be quick! Those pair were €39.99!

A better look at the sweater, the back of it dips a little more in length than the front, which is a style I’m loving.

I paired the sweater with leather pants, and these ones I picked up in River Island a while back for €24 (I know!!) still some in stock but very little sizes (here) . If you are looking for a nice Leather pair then I would recommend the Freddy Leather pants (they are amazing and currently on my wishlist!)  available here.

The bag, no words needed really..this was bought as a gift from my brother on his travels a few years ago, he did good really didnt he? Its divine and one of my most coveted things in the wardrobe!

I kept the whole look casual by adding my adidas superstars, I love these, so comfy and great for casual wear…mind you not quiet sure how I kept them so white in this pic! You can find them here

I also gave this outfit a run for its money over in Paris too and was super for strolling around the pretty Parisian streets, casual yet stylish.

Hope you enjoyed this post

Until next time
