Oldie but Goodie

FashionMy Style

Oldie but goodie…

I got this jumpsuit before summer began and just before I went back to Ireland..I picked it up at Norstrom. Its by a brand called 1901 which is slowly becoming a favourite of mine for certain pieces. I’m beginning to discover new brands since moving stateside and these are definitely a nice label.

Its been worn to on many occasions in the last few months that I’ve lost count…the beauty is I can still wear it here in Austin in this heat! Its so comfortable as its made mainly of cotton and its so breathable even after loads of food! Unfortunately its now sold out, but I’ve linked some of my favourite jumpsuits around at the moment down below.

I love a good jumpsuit and here are some of my favourite ones around at the moment.  They last forever and never go out of fashion. Jumpsuits are a great alternative to  a dress. You can buy ones for nights out or wear with trainers or carry you through most seasons.

The heels are from Dunnes Stores, and the earrings from the jewel genie, which i adore!

Here’s a few of my top Jumpsuits around at the moment. This one from JCrew I’ve been lusting after but its more than id like to spend find it here ..this white beauty from River Island here , this casual one right here from Zara. I’m loving this from Asos too and this new look one is so cool check it out here

Until next time

Summertime tops

FashionMy Style

Summertime tops are being pulled out and bought galore by me that is..There’s nothing nicer than tops that you can wear with white jeans or shorts and that are breathable!

Ones that you can throw on for a summer barbecue or a day time look . And that will pass as a night time look if you plan on staying out late!! Not asking for much am I? I love those kind of tops and this one is just the perfect one for that kind of occasion!

This stop was a steal from Zara and I love that there is lovely little subtle detailing on the neckline and Sleeve and hem line. It has fab bell sleeves and the lace embroidered detail is beautiful.  You can see the top in more detail here

I paired this top with white jeans  from River Island (old stock) as its gives it a great summery look and the heels are New look which you’ll find here.

The open back is lovely too again subtle but elegant details!

This top can be easily worn with shorts too and what I love about it is that its such a dressy simple look. Its the perfect summer top as the material is mainly made out of cotton and very breathable! It has an uneven hem as in it dips at the back again another thing I love about it. Covering everything so I don’t ask the question  does my bum look big in this 🙂

The pics were taking by my talented brother Derek and a huge thank you to the Sheraton Athlone Hotel for allowing us use one of their stunning rooms with amazing views, if you are ever looking for a hotel in the midlands then this is definitely one hotel you need to book!

If you have any questions about the look please feel free to message me. This top is one of my favourites at the moment and such great value!

Hope you liked it

The suede Trench Coat..

FashionMy Style

IMG_6498

So suede has gone crazy for winter, and huge this season…its everywhere and on every item of clothing be it tops, skirts, dresses jackets and coats. Its so nice and I opted for a suede trench coat. Its the texture and the warmth of it that sold it for me. Albeit lets hope the rain doesnt hit it 🙂

IMG_6504

For this look I paired it with my River Island leathers, again I purchased them last year but they still have them as they restock every year and you’ll find them in store and here. I also picked these boots up from TK Maxx, they are guess boots and were a steal at €45!

IMG_6509

Its the back of this trench that I love the way its shaped and the style of it. I like that its got a waterfall front too…I have paired it with Nike trainers too and looks just as good. This Coat is available from Vanilla Boutique and is now reduced in their sale for €45 a bargain!!

Pics are by Emer Irish Fashaholic who is a doll and we always have so much fun.

Hope you like the look

The day dress for any wardrobe …My style

FashionFashion and Beauty BlogMy StyleUncategorized

IMG_6552

A girl can never have too many dresses right?? And we always manage to find the perfect dress for a night out..but how impossible is it to find a nice day dress these days..One that will go with any type of boot be it ankle or knee high along with a pair of heels.

This one I spotted flying through Dunnes one day and though it was perfect. It sits so nice on and the shape is so forgiving. Its great paired with heels and ankle boots but for this shoot I popped on a pair of knee highs which I picked up last January in the River Island sales. There is similar here for €54!

IMG_6555

I love the detail in the top part of the dress it has frills and is really pretty. The neckline is lovely too. It is by Savida and there is a few still available in store, it is sold out online. The only thing I will say is size up on this.

IMG_6547

I loved the lenght too and it looks great with opaque tights. I throw a fur collar over it, the collar is vintage but penneys are doing similar and swamp clothing.

So there’s my perfect day time dress for you girls

Hope you like,

Until next time

Vintage Series ..the final look!

FashionFashion and Beauty Blog

IMG_5305

Aw its the final look of the Vintage series. I absolutely adored this collaboration with @MissDaisyblue and Emer @Irishfashaholic. It was so much fun and I adore vintage clothes. A beautiful piece is a beautiful piece it doesn’t matter what era its from. Beauty never fades!

IMG_5319

This top is divine and far far prettier in real life. The material (although you can’t see it) is almost sheer and see through and so delicate against my skin. I loved the frilling on the sleeves and necklace. Such a feminine look.

IMG_5322

I paired this vintage top from Miss Daisy blue with white jeans and nude heels. The jeans are River Island and you’ll find it here

IMG_5315

Vintage is so easy to upstyle girls and I hope after featuring this vintage series from Miss Daisy blue I have convinced you that its not only unique to wear vintage not to mention fashionable but very easy to wear in the current season.

Hope you enjoyed these post again thank you to Emer Irish Fashaholic and Breda Miss Daisy Blue. Go visit their store even if its just to play dress up you won’t be disappointed.

Vintage series …Vintage Dresses Part 2

FashionMy Style

At this stage guys, you will be aware of my collaboration with Miss Daisy blue here in Cork. It was so much fun playing dress up and the choice was phenomenal especially when it came to dresses. I have come to the realization that  if I had to go back in time, the 1950 era would have suited me perfectly. An hourglass figure dominated the look of the 1950s. With cinched-in waistlines and accentuated hips and busts, the style was a decidedly mature one. And this below epitomes this look and was one of the reasons I was drawn to it.

IMG_5358

With its tight cinched waist, billowing skirt, and pronounced bust line , it oozes the early 1950’s” wasp waist” silhouette.

IMG_5349

I loved the fullness of this skirt and there appears to be a built in petticoat underneath which wouldn’t have been uncommon in this era. Normally  the skirt could be worn with a petticoat underneath to give it added fullness or with a thin slip for easier movement. It also has layers of tulle and a satin fabric on the waist of the dress. It is simply divine!

IMG_5362

The detail on the back has been given as much attention as the front. I loved the ladylike bow that is used to fastening the back of the dress. How amazing is the quality of this dress given that it is vintage?

IMG_5382

The length of this dress was so apt for 1950’s as back then after the war ended they shortened the length a little from ankle to mid length or just below the knee. This is still very popular today in 2016 and this dress would be perfect for a wedding, races or even for a bride to be, if she wanted something a little different. I love the scooped neckline on this dress & with the draped fabric it oozes elegance. The pale pink pastel colour is beautiful and emphasizes the sophistication of the dress.

IMG_5399 (1)

I paired this vintage beauty with pom pom heels I picked up from River Island in the sale for €42 similar colour here

The dress is from Miss Daisy blue and all their details are available here it was roughly €270 & worth every penny!

All pics are by the amazingly talented Emer @Irishfashaholic, it was a super day and I felt like a princess in this dress

IMG_5355 (2)

(Pics @Irishfashaholic)

Hope you enjoyed this look girls and please go check out Miss Daisy blue, I guarantee you’ll find some iconic pieces.

Until next time

My style… floral prints

Fashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

For the whole summer I’ve been loving floral prints. It’s a nice change to see colour injected into the clothes in the form of floral prints. And this is here to stay for autumn winter.

I didn’t venture too much into the stores during the sales, the fact that I was moving house may have prevented that happening too! I did however manage to pop into @athlonetowncentre while at home and spotted this fab River Island skirt for €18 in the sale

IMG_5205

As it wasn’t in my size the girls in River island @athlonetowncentre ordered it online for me and were so helpful having it delivered to my nearest River Island store.

IMG_5235-3

I paired it with a bardot top from@ vanillaboutique which I love you can purchase it here and similar here

IMG_5237-3

A closer look at the Skirt, you can find similar here

Its such a comfy skirt and paired with a denim shirt it would be a super day time look.

IMG_5239-3

The earrings are from Parfois (I love parfois as its so inexpensive and you can get some fabulous accessories there have a look for yourselves here

IMG_5221-3

I love TK Maxx in @Athlonetowncenter and I picked up these sunnies for a steal at €16.99, they are Valentino! (TK maxx is great for that kind of thing) Bag is Carvela (as featured before, bought it in @Debenhams) Shoes are from a shoe shop in Donegal. A steal at €20!

It was so much fun shooting this look with Emer@Irishfashaholic she’s quiet the photographer and we always have a giggle!

Hope you liked the look, any questions just ask

Until next time

Athlone Towncentre…The shopping haven of the midlands!!

FashionFashion and Beauty Blog

Right I may be biased but I do love this shopping center, there is nothing I love more than heading home and sneaking away minus kids into Athlone Town Centre, you midland ladies don’t know how lucky you are, having this on your doorstep!

20160708_113058_resized athlone town center

This weekend was no exception when visiting home, I hightailed it in there with my two sisters. Its like our home ritual if we’re all in Westmeath at the same time!!I actually think my older sister has a worse obsession for it than me!!!

Screenshot_2016-07-11-22-55-28_resized Screenshot_2016-07-11-22-55-49_resized

(Pic: @athlonetowncenter)

A quick Coffee/Tea break in Starbucks and we’re off, normally we hit River Island and work our way around and up!

I am a TK Maxx addict and I have to say the store in the Town Centre is fantastic, I have picked up fabulous stuff in there, Sunnies, bags, shoes you name it I’ve nabbed it!!

As you know Zara is my second home, I’ve an obsession with it, I should have shares in the place at this stage!!! The one in Athlone Town centre is amazing, it has so much stock, I love it!!

Next victim is Oasis stores, yes I have recently spent half the bank balance in there ..seriously loving the floral prints at the moment.

They have fantastic shops in the center, Born clothing, Next,Marks and Spencers, shoe lace (A fab shoe shop with unbelievable prices), Vero Moda, JD Sports, Tommy Hilfiger, Pamela Scotts (picked up a fab pair of salsa jeans there recently) Fields, Monsoon, Topshop, River Island as I mentioned, Zara, Oasis, oh and did I say Warehouse, yes warehouse another one of my favourites. They also have one of the best H&M stores. I love nabbing things from H&M when I’m home, now I know there is a H&M in Cork city but its not the same as having all your favourite stores under the one roof!! They are just a few of the stores in the Centre, but there’s over 60 stores in there!

Screenshot_2016-07-11-23-08-11_resized20160708_110546_resized

They have Tiger which is lovely for quirky bits for the house, Sketchers is also a new addition, and do not get me started on McGorisks Pharmacy, for any beauty lover this place is a mecca for any type of beauty products you would need. They store AMAZING brands, cailyn, the balm, Flormar, Paese cosmetics, they have a huge selection those are only a handful of whats on offer. They are also stocking the fab bombay cups and candles, unfortunately they didn’t have my letter in stock at the weekend..no matter I will be back!! Any excuse!!

2016-07-12 23.03.49_resized 2016-07-12 23.04.08_resized

There is some fab restaurants if you feel peckish during the day and I would recommend “the Fattted Calf” it is divine!! And when your weight down with shopping bags just pop into the Sheraton for a little tipple!!

The centre is constantly organising superb events on a weekly or monthly basis not to mention special offers etc. Don’t believe me well check out some exciting events coming up in the next few weeks http://goo.gl/R8Wl8D Most recently I was lucky enough to attend a fabulous fashion show called the style sensation hosted by Susanne Jackson aka So Sue Me. It was also the final for Midlands Next Top Model, and the beautiful and deserving winner was Ciara Jennings, although all the contestants were gorgeous.

Screenshot_2016-07-11-23-07-32_resized

(The gorgeous Ciara Jennings)

Some of the looks at Style Sensation, just gorgeous outfits from a variety of stores.

If you are looking for a centre that not only has fantastic brands in one roof, but organised activities on a regular basis then Athlone Town Centre is the place for it. Without its a shopping mecca of the midlands and they are constantly growing and increasing their brands and stores…now currently penciling in my next visit!! Pic below is the aftermath results of “every” visit to the Centre!

FashionFashion and Beauty Blog

DSC_0801

Hey Ladies

So last week, I had the opportunity to get a peek at the new Autumn Winter range for River Island.

It was stunning, For Autumn Winter 2016 River Island have created a new and exciting collection with Opulent fabrics featuring throughout expect lots of pastel colours to break up the moody colour palette of greens, reds, blacks and navy.

DSC_0800

For this collection there’s a broad array of prints from animal, to floral, striped to tartan adds a fun and youthful edge.
A  Victoriana inspired DECADENCE is stylish and elegant with a unique and contemporary spin.

DSC_0817

A dark story of bottle greens, oxblood reds and khakis are contrasted with pastel pink and peach accents.

DSC_0814

Prints are key, with paisley and vintage florals worn head to toe. Luxe fabrics of faux fur, velvet and lace add texture whilst ruffled layers create volume.

DSC_0808

Dresses take on a glamorous approach with high necklines, cold shoulders and floaty hems. Leopard print coats and Victoriana blouses are paired with candy pink buckle boots for a feminine feel with a slight 70s influence.

For the evening, metallics come out to play in the form of sequins, knee high boots and full length dresses.

Unusual colour combinations of earthy tones are mixed with bright yellows and pastels. Textures of frayed tweed, fringing, studs and embroidery add a tough girl dimension to the collection.

Outerwear is key with bombers, bikers, shearling lined denim jackets and overshirts worn over A-line mini dresses to create a wearable collection for a cool daytime look. Tartan, polka dots and leopard prints are worn clashed and co-ordinated.
