Savida: A cut above the rest!!

Savida

Savida, a label worth knowing! Last Wednesday I was kindly invited to pop into Dunnes Stores head office for a sneak preview of what’s to come into their stores for the Savida and Gallery Collections…

I am a huge fan of Savida (see previous post on collections I’ve worn) and I love to see how much it has evolved & grown in the past two years…To say I was impressed with the amount of hard work that has gone into pulling & selecting the collections is an understatement. They have some AMAZING quality pieces coming into the stores, now and in the next coming months. I had the opportunity to with meet with the fabulous and talented buyers who talked me through the collections piece by piece.

I never fully understood the amount of thought, blood, sweat and tears that the buyers go through in pulling a collection that is worthy to land on their store floors, and this visit was certainly an eye opener for me!

First up Savida, I am already a fan of this label and I adore their recent collections, they are young, chic and incredibly stylish but practical at the same time. There is something for everyone in their collections for summer, and the vibrant colours add lots of fun to it.

I love the variety available at Savida currently, there is something for everyone, practical items but with subtle details, making it that bit more unique. Colours are prominent, but the palettes chosen are wearable time and time again! Every collection coming up in the next few months all have a different palette. Blues and Yellows are visible for the current collection, yet reds, bright pinks, whites, navy’s, stripes are all more dominant in up and coming collections. All very wearable and pieces that will take you further into the autumn season too!

Savida have thought of every type of scenario or occasion (christening, bbq. summer party, races, communion) you might have, and created a collection for a strong busy woman..perception has always been that Dunnes is where your “mum” shopped for clothes, but this current mum who shops in Savida is young, trendy and very fashionable! The collection is younger and appeals to every sort of woman, the working professional in their 20’s, the busy but fashionable mom, the socialite girl, Savida has something for all these confident sophisticated ladies!

Savida have worked hard to change this perception of their clothing and have found the direction in where their collection is going, its remarkable how in such a short space of time they really have evolved and young fashionistas are sitting up and starting to notice!

So ladies keep your eyes peeled for these collections to land in-store, I had so many favourites I wanted and am impatiently waiting for them to hit the floor, top of my list is that beautiful giraffe print dress (top pic)….June cannot come quick enough..

I will be showing more of the collection in the next few days. There is so much gorgeous pieces, too much to show here but I will share them on my facebook page here!

Let me know what has caught your eye too and if you have any questions on pricing or when they will be available just send me a message, I be happy to help.

Until next time

Communion Outfits

FashionUncategorized

Communion outfits don’t have to be complicated ladies, I know I have received numerous messages for girls wondering what to wear for the day. Its tricky as its gone very dressy ..more like attending a wedding :)…

My advise is keep it simple…keep it dressy but not an outfit for a wedding. I think its important to bear in mind when purchasing an outfit ,to remember what you have hanging in your wardrobe already, and what you are about to purchase could potential go with some of your other items you already own. Therefore you are going to get more wear out of it after the communion day is over. Be it a blazer, top, skirt or trousers. Because lets be honest there is no point in buying something to wear for one day.

Also bear in mind its about your little ones day and keep it simple elegant and demure 🙂

So on that note here is my options for you which would look good and be completely wearable again.

Occassional outfits
Top Oasis €46, Warehouse midi skirt €84, Bag New look clutch €28, New Look Pink Sateen knot front tie heels €38. White off shoulder top €12.99. Warehouse Prom Skirt €63

Skirts are a great alternative as they can be worn time and time again and go with almost any other top in the wardrobe..wear a black top with either of these skirts and you can wear this outfit for a date night or night out with the girls. And both those tops above can be paired with jeans.

Dressy heels
Warehouse Jumpsuit €89, New Look Pink heels €27, Asos Shirt detailed Jumpsuit €73.33, New Look silver heels €27, Warehouse culotte Jumpsuit reduced to €29, New Look gold heels €34.99

I love a jumpsuit and they pretty much suit any occasion. Its always a nice alternative to a dress and looks very chic and modern. These ones are great for this time of year and I love the colours. Throw a blazer over any of these and it’ll still look smart for a communion. Jumpsuits you will wear time and time again. And if you don’t have one then considering investing in a nice tailored version.

Trousers
New look Nude Pink Suede Stud Heels €34.99, White trousers Warehouse €52, Warehouse Burnt out top €51. HM Earrings €9.99, New Look blue strappy heels €27, Topshop Dusty blue cigarette trousers €34

Trousers are always a great option. Its nice to have something a little different. I’m loving the lovely bright colours around at the moment and I know I’ve said it before but you will wear them again to a barbecue or christening event or any other occasion. You can also add a different top with these trousers, to completely change the look, be it a light jumper with flats for day time, or heels and a top for a more dressy night out outfit.

Skirts
White Jumper H&M €22.99, Hot Pink Ruffle Skirt Topshop €57, Rose Gold bag Asos €31, Asos Rose Gold Heels €35, HM Camisole Top €14, Miss Selfridges Nude Faux Leather skirt €40, Missguided Clutch Asos €12, Asos-Dune Alice Nude heels €44. Oasis Floral Sleeveless top €47, Oasis Floral skirt €52.

Its always fun to add a pop of colour or add print to make an occasional outfit stand out. I love this pink top with ruffles, I would definitely wear it again to some other event. And I’d swap the white jumper for a sleeveless top or camisole. All these skirts are a little different, but yet not completely out there, that you wouldn’t wear them again with other things. I paired the floral skirt with a floral top but again you can wear a more plainer colour to tone it down a bit. All of these can be worn as separates so you are getting more value out of the outfit.

I purposely left out dresses girls just this time round as I wanted you to look at what you could possible wear already from your wardrobe. And to look at purchasing an outfit that you can wear the separates with numerous things you had already.

Hope this has been helpful

Until next time

Communions and what to wear Part 1

Fashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

IMG_7121

Around this time I always get the private messages from my fabulous girls looking for a communion/confirmation outfit. Whatever it is there is always a panic about what to wear for these two particular occasions. Is it because its neither a wedding or a dinner and its somewhere in between?..I guess we all seem to put pressure on ourselves for these particular occasions. Unnecessary pressure too, seriously girls if you think hard enough about it, I’d bet you have something sitting in your wardrobe already you just haven’t thought about how to wear it differently.

For example take this skirt in the pic above, this is old about a year or two old. Its a Penney’s skirt a bargain buy and as I have two communions this year to my two equally gorgeous nieces, I’ve had to wreck my brains and wardrobe as to what to wear as I don’t want to purchase something new that I might never wear again! Hence why this skirt was pulled out.

IMG_7103

Its a neutral pink colour and can be matched with all different types of other colours, grey’s, whites you name it. I know there is similar skirts available here here, & here. Its a nice colour and the midi lenght is suitable for this type of occasion.  The beauty about the colour of this skirt is its always in season, and perfect for summer too. Its always good to have a neutral colour skirt like this hanging in the wardrobe as you’ll wear it over and over again.

I paired it with a lace tshirt I picked up before christmas in Zara. They are still in stock as they are proving to be very popular and go with absolutely everything in the wardrobe. At €17.95 they are so affordable too. You’ll find them here, just make sure you pair them with high waisted skirts or jeans as it is a slight bit short in lenght. Lace tends to look good with everything and this two together work perfectly and are dressy enough for a communion.

The shoes are Savida and old stock but any nude heel/sandal or black heels will work with an outfit like this.

I’ll pull together more looks in the next few days to help you figure out what to wear, I also think girls, skirts and tops are a nice change to wearing dresses for these type of occasion. Plus you have more of a chance of wearing the outfit again be it a top with jeans or the skirt with a different type of top.

Hope this helps and stay tuned for more

Until next time

Love Pam
