Spring Style Sensation at Athlone Town Centre.

FashionFashion and Beauty Blog

Spring summer fashion 2017

What a weekend, chaos filled with fun and fashion and all sorts of gorgeousness! Last weekend Athlone Town Centre held their spring style sensation event showcasing all their collections for Spring summer Fashion 2017 that are available from all the stores. These included some of the top high street retailers and if you’re not familiar with the centre, then here s a post I done previously on all that Athlone Town Centre has to offer.

Myself, Shona from Sho Style and Tanya My little love stories (Two equally stylish bloggers) were asked to host our own style sections throughout each fashion show which were 1pm, 2pm & 3pm. First up was Shona and she pulled some fabulous looks which you can see more of here, followed by myself. I was delighted to be invited and given the opportunity to style some looks for the show and talk through the looks. It wasn’t something I have ever done before and surprisingly I as nervous as I thought i’d be…I think when you love and are passionate about something it helps and with all that Athlone town centre has to offer it made it that bit easier! The show was MC’d by the beautiful Holly Carpenter who was very down to earth and relaxed.

I was given 6 looks to choose, from a selection of stores, H&M, Quiz Clothing, Born Clothing, Oasis, Warehouse, and Topshop.

First Look was from Born Clothing worn by the gorgeous Katie.

This was one of my favourite looks from the Collection as I love the versatility of a jumpsuit particularly this culotte jumpsuit. Its the perfect colour for spring/summer and for me its something I would wear to a communion or event. It is lovely and tailored and smart too, Its that little bit different to wearing a dress and will worn time and time again. This jumpsuit is by closet and retails for around €104 and is available  in all sizes ranging from 8 to a size 16. The bag €30 and shoes €35 were by Shoe Lace a fabulous shoe shop in the Centre. You’ll find all details for shoe lace boutique here

2nd Look was from Warehouse and worn by the stunning Victoria.

This dress I want, it is so my style and I love the easiness of it. This is the kind of dress you can wear for a night out with the girls or dinner with your other half. I’d also wear this during the day but change the look by pairing it with ankle boots and a leather jacket. The dress retails at €61 which is a great price, my all time favourite and adding this to the wardrobe! These laser cut lace up heels are fab with this and are €35 from Shoe Lace.

3rd Look was from Oasis Clothing worn by the wonderful Dearbhla (an absolute lady)

Athlone Town Centre

I kept this look casual, as I’m a mum of two and always on the go with school runs, after school activities. I always have other things on myself while the kids are in school, so I wanted to do a dressy casual every day look. Its a look where all the pieces can be worn separately with anything else in your wardrobe. Oasis is perfect for those casual bits that everyone needs in their wardrobe and will be worn over and over again. This look can also be worn with white trainers too. The jeans are “Jade” and €51, the Flamingo Jumper (which I adore) is €52, Boyfriend Blazer is €52, Mia Multi strap heels €50, and star satchel €37.

4th look was from Quiz worn by the beautiful Ciara.

This is actually a dress, but I styled the Dress with Jeans. I used it as a Top instead of a dress, I found it was more of a tunic style and with the height of Ciara it looked better as a top. Its a great look for the summer, dressed up with heels as above or flats for a day time look. Also on holidays you could wear the dress on its own. The Dress is €32.49, Jeans are €35.09 and Beige lace up heels are €45.49.

5th look was from Topshop worn by the elegant Aisling.

This popper skirt is divine, it is an off white suede colour but would go with anything, I paired it with black but you could also wear a brighter colour with it. It is a midi lenght but very flattering on any shape. it has an underskirt so that it doesn’t rise to high up the thigh. This type of outfit I would wear attending a relations communion, dinner or any family occasion. You could wear this other ways too by dressing it up with a black cami and biker jacket. Another one of my favourite of the day. The skirt is retailing at €68 and Jumper is €36, and the shoes are the models own.

Final look was from H&M and worn by the gorgeous Molly.

This can be either a work to night out look, again all pieces can be worn seperately with other things in your wardrobe. The coat is fabulous and very tailored. It’s also a lovely lenght. Its retailed at €79.99, the blouse I adore and comes in other colours too, its a slight nod to the frill trend at the moment and again it can be worn with other items in the wardrobe.  This blouse retails at €24.99 and the trousers are €29.99.

It was so much fun and a great experience, a tad nerve wrecking as it can be daunting speaking to a large crowd, thanks to Holly for helping me to relax, and can I say well done to Tanya and Shona in their segments too.

Communions and what to wear Part 1

Fashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

Around this time I always get the private messages from my fabulous girls looking for a communion/confirmation outfit. Whatever it is there is always a panic about what to wear for these two particular occasions. Is it because its neither a wedding or a dinner and its somewhere in between?..I guess we all seem to put pressure on ourselves for these particular occasions. Unnecessary pressure too, seriously girls if you think hard enough about it, I’d bet you have something sitting in your wardrobe already you just haven’t thought about how to wear it differently.

For example take this skirt in the pic above, this is old about a year or two old. Its a Penney’s skirt a bargain buy and as I have two communions this year to my two equally gorgeous nieces, I’ve had to wreck my brains and wardrobe as to what to wear as I don’t want to purchase something new that I might never wear again! Hence why this skirt was pulled out.

IMG_7103

Its a neutral pink colour and can be matched with all different types of other colours, grey’s, whites you name it. I know there is similar skirts available here here, & here. Its a nice colour and the midi lenght is suitable for this type of occasion.  The beauty about the colour of this skirt is its always in season, and perfect for summer too. Its always good to have a neutral colour skirt like this hanging in the wardrobe as you’ll wear it over and over again.

I paired it with a lace tshirt I picked up before christmas in Zara. They are still in stock as they are proving to be very popular and go with absolutely everything in the wardrobe. At €17.95 they are so affordable too. You’ll find them here, just make sure you pair them with high waisted skirts or jeans as it is a slight bit short in lenght. Lace tends to look good with everything and this two together work perfectly and are dressy enough for a communion.

The shoes are Savida and old stock but any nude heel/sandal or black heels will work with an outfit like this.

I’ll pull together more looks in the next few days to help you figure out what to wear, I also think girls, skirts and tops are a nice change to wearing dresses for these type of occasion. Plus you have more of a chance of wearing the outfit again be it a top with jeans or the skirt with a different type of top.

Hope this helps and stay tuned for more

Until next time

Love Pam
