Summertime tops

FashionMy Style

Summertime tops are being pulled out and bought galore by me that is..There’s nothing nicer than tops that you can wear with white jeans or shorts and that are breathable!

Ones that you can throw on for a summer barbecue or a day time look . And that will pass as a night time look if you plan on staying out late!! Not asking for much am I? I love those kind of tops and this one is just the perfect one for that kind of occasion!

This stop was a steal from Zara and I love that there is lovely little subtle detailing on the neckline and Sleeve and hem line. It has fab bell sleeves and the lace embroidered detail is beautiful.  You can see the top in more detail here

I paired this top with white jeans  from River Island (old stock) as its gives it a great summery look and the heels are New look which you’ll find here.

The open back is lovely too again subtle but elegant details!

This top can be easily worn with shorts too and what I love about it is that its such a dressy simple look. Its the perfect summer top as the material is mainly made out of cotton and very breathable! It has an uneven hem as in it dips at the back again another thing I love about it. Covering everything so I don’t ask the question  does my bum look big in this 🙂

The pics were taking by my talented brother Derek and a huge thank you to the Sheraton Athlone Hotel for allowing us use one of their stunning rooms with amazing views, if you are ever looking for a hotel in the midlands then this is definitely one hotel you need to book!

If you have any questions about the look please feel free to message me. This top is one of my favourites at the moment and such great value!

Hope you liked it

A Simple but chic daytime look

FashionMy Style

A simple but chic daytime look is my main priority these days…perhaps with a preschool and school run my wardrobe just doesn’t seem to allow for anything else!

But casual does not have to be boring..and with summer coming it can be fun playing around more with casual looks. Hence why the white jeans are being pulled out!! Its totally acceptable to wear them in the summer months even if the weather isn’t sunny!

Because of being a busy mum, comfort and casual are priority but i also find shopping local is easier for me!! And luckily I have a lot of beautiful Irish owned boutiques on my doorstep, who also stock affordable pieces.

Both these items the white jeans and the shirt are from a local boutique called Hickeys Fashion Fermoy..I always like to have a browse around this store as they have some gorgeous pieces. They cater for all ages and  in more recent times, their price point has changed and is amazing value for good quality casual and dressy pieces. They stock French connection which is what I’m wearing above. They also stock other young brands which are a little more edgy and different which is why I love pottering into Hickeys! The girls in the store are unbelievably helpful and so friendly and nothing is a problem! And I love how well laid out the store is..you can see everything!

I love this shirt and the fact its not fitted or has buttons from top to bottom is perfect. I find it hard sometimes to get a shirt that one button doesn’t pop open or stretch across the breast area. With this top you wont have that problem. Also its a great top after giving birth or if you are trying to hide the first three months of pregnancy!! (I am not by the way :-))

The top is great quality and the detailing on the collar is beautiful, its lace! I also love the back of it too and the lenght of it just covers your bum area nicely.

At €78 its great value and I have a feeling I will get plenty of wear out of this one!! I have since washed it and it doesnt loose it shape whatsoever. There was so much choice in Hickeys for Tops I wanted the whole lot but I think I’d probably be divorced if I bought everything!!

The white jeans are so comfy and are extremely soft, they don’t feel like denim at all and they have a lovely shape and are mid rise!

I paired them with a tan heel which is from New Look (but old season) but similar here and the Michael Kors bag was a gift from my hubbie.

Its a great day time look and you could easily pop a pair of white shorts with this in hotter weather or pair it with blue jeans and it would look super..I definitely think you could wear this look for evening drinks too!

If you are ever around near Hickeys in Fermoy, do pop in as you will be pleasantly surprise with what they have to offer and I am telling you now, you will not leave empty handed…

Put a bow on it!

FashionMy Style

Put a bow on it …loving this pencil skirt..

With its high waisted fit and bow to cover a multitude over the tummy area this dress is a dream.. I had been oowing and ahing over a similar skirt I spotted in Coast that was featured on Olivia Palermo, but its was that little bit too expensive for me. So when I spotted this one on Asos I simple had no hesitation in purchasing.

The colours are beautiful and its easy pair it up with any type of top. The one I’m wearing here is from Vanilla Boutique its old but I have found similar here from IClothing for €24.95..online here

The skirt is available here on Asos but is selling fast.

Apologies for the very little images but I have done a live video on this look and its available to view on my facebook page here

A huge thank you to Philip and the team at the Sheraton Hotel Athlone who allowed us shoot in this beautiful room, a better view on the video above.

Its an amazing hotel with beautiful views all over Athlone Town & the River Shannon, not to mention its attached to Athlonetowncentre, so plenty of shopping too which is even better!!

Pics by my talented Brother Derek Cassells and if you have any queries regarding the photography or video he created just message me.

The Pretty Jumper

FashionMy Style

Jumper

The pretty jumper is always one I have in the wardrobe and replenish it over and over again..its handy for all types of seasons, but this particular one is handy for spring summer. This is the type of jumper you can wear with jeans, dressy tailored trousers, skirts or over dresses. The great all rounder!

I fell in love with this floral number the moment I saw it. I was thorn between two colours, the black or the white. But as its summer I felt the white would be more appropriate.

Its a really pretty delicate jumper. I am not normally drawn to florals but I do like this piece,  I think  the fact the florals are embroidered was the reason I liked it more. It is light weight so not too heavy.

A better look at the jumper. The tulle sleeves with embroidery make it that more elegant and delicate. The back is just plain which is nice as if there was more embroidery at the back of the top it would just become fussy! Its a lovely fit too and not at all baggy which is why I find it easy to pair it with dressy trousers and skirts. Its a nice neat fit. I picked it up from Vanilla Boutique I think from memory for €48. (Zara has similar in black here)

I paired it with these noisy may jeans €34.99 I got from Born Clothing I find these jeans a lovely fit too and the best bit is I’ve washed them lots now and the black has barely faded! The shoes are my regular nude heels from Asos that I featured in previous posts.

I have featured this bag before but I wanted to give you a proper look at it ..I picked it up in TK Maxx and it was the best buy ever. Its so handy as a cross body bag and I can fit everything bar the kitchen sink into it …I have to say I love TK maxx for bags and Sunglasses (the pair I’m wearing are also from TK Maxx)

I hope you liked this look and  thanks for reading xx

Printed Blazer..my favourite piece in the wardrobe

FashionMy Style

This printed Blazer is without a doubt my most covet piece in the wardrobe at the moment. I love a good blazer I think we all do, I have a good few hanging in the wardrobe, all different colours. Some for the colder spring months and early autumn and then the summer ones, but I’ve never had a dressy going out blazer that you’d wear as a top!

The moment I spotted this silky blazer I fell in love…I knew even by looking at it on a hanger it was going to be fab on!  After trying it on I was in love, totally my style and a little quirky.

The back is just as pretty as the front with the swan print, and I just love how tailored it is. The silk material makes it lovely and dressy for a night out.

The belt of the blazer was a bit tricky at first to figure out. Its like a obi belt but the widest part of the belt goes to the front and then you wrap the rest of it around your waist tying a bow (the thinnest part of the belt) over the widest part at the front (I had a few of you inquiring about this on snap chat!) I pair it with a nude camisole (this one is from Dunnes) but you can also pair a black cami or a bralette underneath if your daring enough, I would love to but I’m a bit too top heavy to nail the bralette look!

I have this blazer a good while now, over a month but thankfully it is still in stock. I picked it up in Zara and was €79.95 definitely a bit more expensive that my usual purchases but absolutely worth every penny. I love it! It is still in stock and you can also find it online here. I paired it with my River Island Leathers but unfortunately they are no longer in stock. You will find similar here.

Hope you enjoyed this look

Until next time

The dress you can wear on its own or over jeans

FashionMy Style

The dress you can wear over jeans…say what now? I’ve noticed that I am starting to play around with my style lately and for some unknown reason I’m liking wearing dresses over jeans…Maybe its just an age thing or something but I kind of like this style.

Don’t get me wrong I like wearing the dress on its own too with a pair of rose gold heels for date night. But I want to get more wear out of the dresses that are hanging idle in the wardrobe. The ones that are short enough for a night out ..not too short mind..but are just that little bit too short to be wearing on their own running after kids and picking up toys!! Hence where the jeans come into it.

I spotted this dress in one of my local boutiques Corali and loved it…I love the colours & Print on this dress and its incredibly comfortable. Its a one size fits all dress and so roomy, it definitely would fit up to size 14. I actually put my own belt around it to give it more of a shape and the pleats in this dress are so flattering too. Its the perfect dress for spring.

A closer look at the dress so as you can see the pleats throughout…it also has bell sleeves.  I had this belt from another dress that works perfectly with it. A tan belt will also look good. The bag is from TK Maxx (as before) on previous post, its getting get mileage and was an absolute bargain.

The jeans are as before from Stradivarius and you’ll find them here ..again another bargain and getting loads of wear out of these jeans as they are so comfy. The heels are old but you’ll find similar nude heels from Asos here

This dress is a great all rounder and I think it works with jeans. Caroline still has this dress in stock and I guarantee you its the most comfortable dress especially if you are out for dinner 🙂  I have a few other dresses hanging in the wardrobe too that I’ve started to wear with jeans I guess if the lenght is just below your thigh then you can wear it with jeans ..any longer in lenght and you may not pull off this look .

Hope you enjoyed this post and if you have any questions just ask I’m happy to help

This seasons biker jacket!

My Style

This seasons biker jacket i am loving..

You know when your looking for a casual jacket but the denim jacket just wont suffice as its just too casual for that dressy casual look that you are trying to pull off?? Well this seasons jacket that’s in every highstreet you could possibly think of is perfect and its the biker jacket…but in the pastel colours!

Its the perfect type of jacket to turn a casual look into a slightly dressier look than normal. It works with pretty much everything! You may have seen me wear it in a recent post with a dress I picked up in Debenhams, if you haven’t you’ll find the post here.

I love the colours that are available in these type of jackets and the fact that its a soft suede makes it nice and warm and not too heavy if that makes sense. Mind you, it needs to be looked after as it can easily get stained. I picked a blush pink as it goes with everything. I have spottted nice baby blues and beige also and they are equally nice. I picked this up in Stradivarius for €45.95 so it didn’t cost an arm and a leg. You’ll find it here I’ve also spotted similar in Zara but a little bit more expensive.

I kept the look simple and casual and paired it with this simple frill top from Penneys which was only €12 or something like that. Got it about a month ago although I know they are still in stock. Zara have a similar top to that here I also paired it with my black noisy may jeans which you’ll find here. The bag is parfois as before. It just goes with every outfit.

Thanks to the beautiful Irina from Happy Memories Photography for all the fab pics.

Hope you enjoyed the post, any questions just ask.

Until next time

Casual Wear during Easter Term

FashionFashion and Beauty BlogMy StyleUncategorized

casual wear

Casual wear during the Easter Holiday…so I’ve been living in casual wear since the kids got their holidays..Mainly because the alarm clock (aka two minions) have been waking up at ungodly hours and I’m literally too tired to even think let alone decide what to throw on..hence nice casual wear for the day. Its a comfy and little more relaxed easy look when dealing with two kids all day 🙂

This current piece is from a little boutique which only recently opened called Corali. It is owned by a gorgeous girl called Caroline, who is unbelievably helpful, and has an amazing eye for good quality affordable fashion!

I grabbed this jumper from her store a few weeks back, as soon as I tried it on I loved it…its so comfy but a fab piece too with lovely little details on the arms (a star on one side and an anchor the other side) This is a two in one piece with the collar and hem attached to the jumper. Its all in one and I can’t count how many times I’ve been complimented when wearing it.

Its a fine knit jumper and perfect for this kind of weather, as in cold one day nice and mild the next. The jumper also looks well with a navy blazer. I washed this a good few times now and it hasn’t lost it shape, the quality is excellent for the price I paid for it at €48 (from memory)

The lenght of the jumper is lovely too not too long for a 5’4 shorty like me but a nice lenght all the same. I paired mine with my stradivarius jeans which were €19.95, find them instore or here. I have these jeans a while and what I will say about them is they are true to size and after several wears & washes they have kept their shape. The only thing is they are distressed jeans and the rips on the knee have widened a lot more so if you don’t really like when that happens then avoid these jeans.

The heels are from Littlewoods Ireland but they are sold out sorry guys but Asos have similar here.

So a nice casual day time look for any wardrobe and as far as I know Corali still have these in stock, if you contact Caroline in the link above you’ll can order over the phone.

Hope you like and if you have any questions just ask me

Until next time

A little lace top!

FashionMy Style

I’m always drawn to lace ..for me it never dates and its always good to have a little lace top (white preferably) hanging in the wardrobe. It goes with everything and you can mix it up with skirts, jeans or trousers.

This one I picked up in the January sales in Stradivarius, but even since then I have seen similar everywhere. And I’m not surprised as they are so dressy for day or nighttime and suit every kind of shape. This is slightly shorter so will suit a petite figure. But I have seen longer lengths to suit taller or longer torso s.

I paired this with my grey jeans from Noisy may which you’ll find here but I have also worn this with blush pink trousers and tulle skirts too. In the summer I pair it with denim shorts and it looks fab. (I’ll show you another picture below)

The heels are old from Savida, but they have a similar darker pair in stock at the moment. I wear this outfit during the day and it can also be worn at night.

Like I mentioned these type of lace tops never date so don’t afraid to purchase one if you are not already an owner..I guarantee you this type of top will be the one that you pull out from your wardrobe to wear, time and time again. As this was purchased in January I have found similar ones for you here, here herehere and here

As I said above I have also paired this top with Blush pants from Zara and nude heels and it goes perfectly together too. See pic below.

All pictures above apart from the last picture were taken by Emer Irish Fashaholic

I hope you enjoyed this post and if you have any questions just drop me a message

A pretty skirt for any occassion

FashionMy Style

A pretty skirt for any occasion is very hard come by…I kid you not. So when I spotted this one I simply had to have it..its that one skirt you can wear during the day its dressy but with a hint of sexy with the lace hem…

Most importantly you can wear it during the day or night..you can dress it down with a grungy tshirt and converse and its got that nice edgy casual look if you are brave enough to pull it off!

I on the other hand, am not that brave sometimes, maybe its my height that restricts me from being more edgy but I stuck to safe for this look..But first lets talk about this skirt!

I adored it from the moment I saw it in Bella Dungarvan I bought it instantly and even though I had nothing or no clue what to wear it with I simply had to have it…its a pleated skirt but with a delicate almost see through lace hem! It is so feminine which i love and even though its pleated its tulle material.

Its slightly high waisted again another bonus as it hides a multitude and trust me I have things to hide 🙂 Its the perfect colour to carry you through the Spring/Summer season.

I paired this skirt with a simple white fine knit jumper from H&M, I will however wear it with a simple cami over the summer for a night out. The reason for pairing it with a knit is a have two of my gorgeous nieces communions coming up and feel this will be perfect to wear for either of their communions. Understated!

The skirt was €48, and the Top from H&M was €29.99 and still in store and online here

The bag was a gift from my Brother but its by Parfois.
