Cosy knitwear for Spring weather

FashionFashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

123

I love having some nice cosy jumpers in the wardrobe. The ones that make you feel all snugly when its so cold outside and dull. Or when you don’t want to be all dressed up but yet want to look stylish even if you are layered up like an Eskimo. Hence these fine knitwear jumpers are perfect for the wardrobe, warm enough to layer up yet perfect for a crisp spring day.

138

Now I know I posted this on my facebook page wearing it a slightly different way than it should be worn. Pippa O’Connor posted the same jumper on the same day wearing it the correct way over the shoulders and put me to shame!. Personally I think it can be worn either šŸ™‚ Albeit it I’m no Pippa O’Connor no question about that and over the shoulder is fabulous too šŸ™‚ This is the cosiest jumper I have in the wardrobe, its a fine knit and the wool is ever so soft. You can get this jumper hereĀ for ā‚¬29.95.Ā They are also available in other colours so I may need to invest šŸ™‚

130 (1)

I like the ease of this jumper, where you can throw it on over jeans and I have a couple of different coloured leather skirts that I wear with it too. The blue jeans are from Stradivarius for ā‚¬19.95 and you’ll find themĀ here

90

I paired it with my Zara military wool coat which is so warm, and goes with everything. Unfortunately its sold out but you will find similarĀ hereĀ andĀ here. Nude shoes are from Asos but are sold out, however penneys currently have similar in stock at the moment.

130

So girls if you aren’t in possession of similar jumpers in your wardrobe, id recommend maybe getting some. They are super handy to throw on and great to keep you warm if the weather is anyway cool.

The pics are by the fabulous Irina fromĀ Happy Memories PhotographyĀ who I cant wait to catch up with this week xx

Until next time

Embellished Jackets

FashionFashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

Happy Monday

183

I’m in the midst of packing I hate packing but especially if its just a carry on bag…I mean seriously I have a 101 things I want to bring but impossible to fit…as I’m packing I came across this embellished Jacket. I love embellished jackets or tops as they work with everything!

187

I picked it up in Zara during January, it was on sale and quiet a bargain, unfortunately its now gone but I have seen similarĀ hereĀ andĀ here. The thing about these type jackets is there are super for any event ..I paired mine with a casual pair of jeans but leathers would look great with them or skirts or just thrown over a dress/jumpsuit!

161 (1)

The jeans are Stradivarius, they have a slight distressed look and are the most comfiest jeans I own, at ā‚¬19.05 they are a steal and you’ll find themĀ here. The heels are current and from Penneys, they were ā‚¬16.

189

The bag is vintage and I adore it, Its a leather Louis Vuitton clutch and I picked it up in an old vintage shop in a London flee market…best buy ever and got it for a steal less than ā‚¬40!

168

I love a statement earring too if I’m not wearing any necklace, personally I feel if the top/jacket is embellished then you dont need much more than earrings. These are HM and were ā‚¬9.99 got them December last year but they are still in stock onlineĀ here

180

The pics are by the fabulous IrinaĀ Happy Memories PhotographyĀ love them xx

Hope you enjoyed this post ladies and any questions just ask, so with that I better get back to my packing and this jacket is coming with me, can wear it day or night!

The suede Trench Coat..

FashionMy Style

IMG_6498

So suede has gone crazy for winter, and huge this season…its everywhere and on every item of clothing be it tops, skirts, dresses jackets and coats. Its so nice and I opted for a suede trench coat. Its the texture and the warmth of it that sold it for me. Albeit lets hope the rain doesnt hit it šŸ™‚

IMG_6504

For this look I paired it with my River Island leathers, again I purchased them last year but they still have them as they restock every year and you’ll find them in store and here. I also picked these boots up from TK Maxx, they are guess boots and were a steal at ā‚¬45!

IMG_6509

Its the back of this trench that I love the way its shaped and the style of it. I like that its got a waterfall front too…I have paired it with Nike trainers too and looks just as good. This Coat is available fromĀ Vanilla BoutiqueĀ and is now reduced in their sale for ā‚¬45 a bargain!!

Pics are by EmerĀ Irish FashaholicĀ who is a doll and we always have so much fun.

Hope you like the look

Keeping it girlie with a Bomber jacket

Fashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

IMG_5836

Previously I posted a fab bomber jacket from Vanilla Boutique, and I think I’m currently having a love affair with bombers lately.

They are so easy to just thrown on over anything…this time round I threw them on with a cute skirt, and anything that’s not to hard to dress up or down is always a winner in my books!

IMG_5844

This bomber I picked up in new look in the sale for ā‚¬18, couldnt just leave it there at that price. its a lovely comfy bomber, and the material is soft and breathable not stiff! Some sizes availableĀ here.

IMG_5839

The skirt is so comfy and its a fine knit kick out hem skirt from Penneys, there are still some available at the moment. Fringe boots are oldies from Dunne Stores. But you can find similarĀ here.

IMG_5835

The black jumper underneath is Zara which I picked up last year but its a basic piece so they restock it every season and you’ll find it online here.

My hair was styled by the fabulous Aisling all her details areĀ hereĀ and I popped a hairband in from New Look that cost me ā‚¬4.99, my latest obsession by the way!!

All pics were by the Emer Irish FashaholicĀ  whose talents are never ending..

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did shooting these pics

Until next time

The casual series: Jeans Part 1

FashionMy Style

Hey Guys

Another week and the cold weather is starting to creep in …with the odd mild day thrown in to try and completely confuse us all andĀ make usĀ unsure as to what to wear!! Its hot its cold!! I’m an Eskimo, wheres my bikini all in one day..Ok a little bit of an exaggeration but you catch my drift!

So for that reason alone, I figured I’d do a few casual looks to take you through the autumn weather…just simple looks. This first look below is one of my “go to” outfits as its just so easy to throw on but still looks nice.. I generally wear this on a week day to drop the kids to school or nip into town for one of my many shopping browses šŸ™‚

IMG_5677

The beauty of this outfit is they are all standard pieces that you should have in the wardrobe. The navy blazer can go with anything apart from jeans, Ā pair it with dresses, tapered trousers, skirts, its a must have!

0142974105_0_6

Stripes are a fail safe option for any outfit, I love this top its from Cos (one of my favourite brands for casual gear, doesnt reshape in the wash even after a 100 washes! Result!) it goes with a lot of items in my wardrobe. I have paired it with a couple of skirts and other items apart from regular blue jeans. For ā‚¬19 you can purchase here

IMG_5683

These jeans are penneys best…they are called boyfriend jeans but are more a skinny type style..I love them as they are so comfortable and even after every wash they don’t go out of shape..for ā‚¬15 I’ll take it!!

rsz_20160919_173123_resized

The flat nude heels are Penneys for ā‚¬11.

IMG_5680

And the bag was also penneys…seriously what would we do if Penneys didn’t exist?? This blazer is one i picked up a few months ago in Zara, their blazers are unreal and the quality is amazing! Similar blazer here

I’ll have other casual looks with jeans in the next few days so stay tuned!

Trending this Autumn/Winter 2016

FashionFashion and Beauty Blog

Hi Everyone,

So another season and more trends…and with that in mind what should one wear for the coming Autumn/Winter? There is lots of gorgeous bits and choice around for everyone. This season its all about the detail, inspiration for designers has been taken from the street, sport, film, fantasy, fairytale, modern art and miltary hence the highstreet has us spoilt for choice!

Oriental Print!

Take inspiration from the far east and add a touch of Orient to your wardrobe. Think floral, silken fabrics, and bright prints. There is plenty of this trend on the highstreet so its time to embrace this beautiful decadent trend.

Mad Metal!!

This trend is taking the fashion industry by storm, from footwear, to dresses. Wearing this metallic can be tricky so keep accessories to a minimum and if your going with metallic footwear keep the remaining outfit simple and casual. Think “sci fi fi”looks when it comes to this trend…not for the faint hearted!

Khaki Staples!

Gothic Glam/Femme Fatale!

Gothic glam or the dark femme fatale is dominating the trends for Autumn/Winter. Floaty layers of sheer blacks, Glam goth with lace edgings and layers. Its about the sheer and lace and if you are to invest in one thing make it a sheer/lace top/blouse that can be worn with both denim and evening wear. With this trend keep the neckline high in tops and dresses and not only can you go dark black, try oxblood and midnight blues.

Bomber Jackets!

Bomber jackets are having their moment this year and are continuing to dominate the Autumn/Winter. The jacket doesn’t have to be a one hit wonder either, it can be worn with anything…jeans, tulle skirts, a mini dress with thigh high boots(which are also on trend for this season!) It doesn’t have to be a plain bomber either although the neutral colour palette will allow you wear it with anything. I’m particularly loving the embellished Bomber at the moment but then I am a bit of a magpie!

At the other extreme is the novelty bags with their quirky stamps and stars!

Outfit of the Day: Cork Blogger Event

My Style

IMG_20160829_081846 (1)

So quickly posting this look from Sundays Cloggers event …for those of you not familiar, its a Cork Blogging community who are part of a bloggers group called Cloggers. Its a fantastic group co founded by Marie @TheBeautMum and Richael @Shelllabelleblog both amazing women who have founded this in order for all bloggers to support and share information among the group. They organise two events throughout the year which are exceptional. And Sunday was the Summer Event. I will be posting all about it later in the week but here’s a quick look at what I wore.

DSC_0842

Picked this dress up on my travels recently, or should I say my hubbie got it for me while we were away as a wedding anniversary gift. Its from & Other Stories one of my favourite stores. The brand is swedish owned and part of the H&M family as well as Cos, Monki and Cheap Monday. Rumour has it they are to open in Grafton street in Autumn of this year so around now if it hasn’t already. The dress is 90% cotton so very wearable, love this material! The dress is also available to order onlineĀ hereĀ (ā‚¬65)

DSC_0849

This vintage bag was such a find, its Louis Vuitton and the second hand store has since closed down. I love the simplicity of the bag.

DSC_0851

Shoes as before by Miss KG and some still availableĀ here

DSC_0839

I popped a black blazer from Zara over the dress just incase it was cold…really there was no need as it was glorious weather on the day.

I’ll have more later in the week on the whole event so stay tuned

Until then

My style …Two toned senorita!

My Style

IMG_5166

I am loving the bare shoulders look (cut out shoulders should I say) at the moment, its perfect for hot weather or a night out. I was heading on holidays mid July and had a mad dash to get a few bits for holiday nights out…I spotted this dress on a rail in Zara. I knew before I ever tried it on that it was going into my wardrobe. I had so much fun shooting this with Emer @Irishfashaholic shes such a talented photograher.

IMG_5172

This dress has an amazing top part with its cut out shoulders, thats what sold it for me. It is so comfy yet sexy if that makes sense? And the fit is great and suits my shape.

IMG_5188

A better look at the top part

IMG_5163

It is a fitted dress that’s for sure, when you are pulling it over your head you’ll notice this. As its two tone, its complimentary due to the cut and the eye is drawn up to the top part of the dress. It doesnt stick in all the wrong places. Ā I paired it with my new look tan suede heels again you’ll find themĀ here

IMG_5195

I wore this dress on holidays and each time I paired it with these @Alex&Ani bracelets. Now who doesn’t love these? I adore the messages and meanings behind these bracelets

IMG_5179

And in case your wondering girls, this little dress was a steal at ā‚¬29.95. It is in stock in some Zara stores unfortunately it is not online, even when I wanted to order it online after seeing it initially I couldn’t find it so have a look in you local stores. But there is similar dresses to this (just different colours)hereĀ andĀ here

Hope you enjoyed this post

Until next time

Vintage Series….Lovely Sequins

Fashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

Rest assured we all remember the 80’s era, the dynasty, dallas episodes with the shoulder pads and sequins. Love it or loathe it they knew how to make a beautiful piece without half the beading leaving a trial on the floor behind you.

As I mentioned I had such fun pottering in @Missdaisyblue and make no mistake, sequins are always part of the vintage collection. I had so much fun upstyling some vintage sequin tops for this collaboration with Miss Daisy blue and shooting with Emer from @Irishfashaholic. I can honestly say girls this is definitely a look you’d wear today!!

IMG_5294 (1)

For this look I paired this immaculate mint green vintage top with my white jeans (which are old from Zara but similar here for ā‚¬29.95) And tan suede new look heels, for ā‚¬39.99 availableĀ here.

IMG_5303

A close up of the Top bearing in mind girls this is a vintage piece, it is so easy to mistake this as a current piece in a boutique. Like I mentioned the quality is superb and the sequins all intact. Ā Breda at Miss Daisy blue has immaculate pieces like this one sourced from the US and Europe. The top is priced under ā‚¬70 which is unbelievable considering some of the current pieces you’d buy at a more expensive price. Trust me I am guilty of these purchases, but none are as of good a quality as this piece.

IMG_5300

The top felt so comfortable and sat beautifully, I love the scallop hem and the colour is divine!

IMG_5301

I had these earrings sitting in my drawing since ages in fact I’m ashamed to say over a year, I picked them up from Ruby Rouge in Wexford as they stock great accessories, this pair worked perfectly with this outfit. But again its so easy to upstyle this vintage top.

IMG_5292

Even though I paired this top with a simple pair of white jeans it could be upstyled with anything, Black trousers, blue jeans, a skirt, mini or midi, it would be particularly pretty with a tulle skirt.

It goes to show you that just because its vintage doesn’t mean it cant be worn in the current season…a vintage piece can be worn in any era!

Hope you like the look and I’ll be back with more vintage pieces so stay tuned

Until then

My style ..Intricate lace

FashionMy Style

IMG_5132 (1)

I love soft colours and lace together, its always so eloquent and never dates. This look has been in my wardrobe for a while I’ve worn it a number of times but never quiet got around to shooting it. Its one of those outfits that can be worn for any occasion, christening, a girlie lunch, communion/confirmation, you name it!

IMG_5156

The Top I have a long time and ordered it from Chicwish, It is so versatile goes with numerous things in my wardrobe, you can dress it up or down. Its incredibly comfortable too. I loved it so much I picked up the black version too…I know thats bad haha but its just so nice! It was ā‚¬35 and you can find itĀ here. The sunglasses are Steve Madden and another investment from TK Maxx for a mere ā‚¬26.99

IMG_5149

For this look I paired it with a pale pink colour trousers from Zara for ā‚¬29.95, they are more a chino type trousers and can be paired with white trainers/converse too! Similar onesĀ here. The heels are old but nude heels would look just as good.

IMG_5143

Its a simple look but quiet elegant, lace never dates and this top is certainly a bargain.

Hope you liked this post as much as I enjoyed shooting it.

Until next time
