Communion Outfits

FashionUncategorized

Communion outfits don’t have to be complicated ladies, I know I have received numerous messages for girls wondering what to wear for the day. Its tricky as its gone very dressy ..more like attending a wedding :)…

My advise is keep it simple…keep it dressy but not an outfit for a wedding. I think its important to bear in mind when purchasing an outfit ,to remember what you have hanging in your wardrobe already, and what you are about to purchase could potential go with some of your other items you already own. Therefore you are going to get more wear out of it after the communion day is over. Be it a blazer, top, skirt or trousers. Because lets be honest there is no point in buying something to wear for one day.

Also bear in mind its about your little ones day and keep it simple elegant and demure 🙂

So on that note here is my options for you which would look good and be completely wearable again.

Occassional outfits
Top Oasis €46, Warehouse midi skirt €84, Bag New look clutch €28, New Look Pink Sateen knot front tie heels €38. White off shoulder top €12.99. Warehouse Prom Skirt €63

Skirts are a great alternative as they can be worn time and time again and go with almost any other top in the wardrobe..wear a black top with either of these skirts and you can wear this outfit for a date night or night out with the girls. And both those tops above can be paired with jeans.

Dressy heels
Warehouse Jumpsuit €89, New Look Pink heels €27, Asos Shirt detailed Jumpsuit €73.33, New Look silver heels €27, Warehouse culotte Jumpsuit reduced to €29, New Look gold heels €34.99

I love a jumpsuit and they pretty much suit any occasion. Its always a nice alternative to a dress and looks very chic and modern. These ones are great for this time of year and I love the colours. Throw a blazer over any of these and it’ll still look smart for a communion. Jumpsuits you will wear time and time again. And if you don’t have one then considering investing in a nice tailored version.

Trousers
New look Nude Pink Suede Stud Heels €34.99, White trousers Warehouse €52, Warehouse Burnt out top €51. HM Earrings €9.99, New Look blue strappy heels €27, Topshop Dusty blue cigarette trousers €34

Trousers are always a great option. Its nice to have something a little different. I’m loving the lovely bright colours around at the moment and I know I’ve said it before but you will wear them again to a barbecue or christening event or any other occasion. You can also add a different top with these trousers, to completely change the look, be it a light jumper with flats for day time, or heels and a top for a more dressy night out outfit.

Skirts
White Jumper H&M €22.99, Hot Pink Ruffle Skirt Topshop €57, Rose Gold bag Asos €31, Asos Rose Gold Heels €35, HM Camisole Top €14, Miss Selfridges Nude Faux Leather skirt €40, Missguided Clutch Asos €12, Asos-Dune Alice Nude heels €44. Oasis Floral Sleeveless top €47, Oasis Floral skirt €52.

Its always fun to add a pop of colour or add print to make an occasional outfit stand out. I love this pink top with ruffles, I would definitely wear it again to some other event. And I’d swap the white jumper for a sleeveless top or camisole. All these skirts are a little different, but yet not completely out there, that you wouldn’t wear them again with other things. I paired the floral skirt with a floral top but again you can wear a more plainer colour to tone it down a bit. All of these can be worn as separates so you are getting more value out of the outfit.

I purposely left out dresses girls just this time round as I wanted you to look at what you could possible wear already from your wardrobe. And to look at purchasing an outfit that you can wear the separates with numerous things you had already.

Hope this has been helpful

Until next time

Grey jeans and How to style them: Part 2

FashionMy Style

Grey jeans as you know I have styled with all grey everything in my last post…this time I’ve decided to wear it a different way and to show you how easy it is to style these type of coloured jeans.

Oasis Leather Jacket

On any given day during the week its always nice to dress down, and stay comfy and casual. You’ve heard me mention school runs numerous times and this is one look with the grey jeans I usually go for first thing in the morning. Leather jackets with grey jeans always look good at anytime.

Primark Tshirt

This leather jacket is quiet old, it was a Christmas gift and its by Oasis Clothing. The beauty with Oasis is they make clothes to last and this leather jacket is lasting a lifetime. I love it, it has fur on the collar that is removable, which is an added bonus as its like two jackets in one! You will find Penneys have a similar jacket minus the fur for €23 and they are a lovely fit or you will find similar from Oasis here for €65.

Leather Jacket

I also paired it with a simple grey t-shirt from Primark, its from last year but they have restocked them since. I love these type of tshirt as they dont stick to your body and are loose yet have a little structure. HM are great for these type tshirts and you’ll find them for €7.99 here They are great t-shirts for any type of jeans.

Grey Jeans

I’m wearing the same grey jeans as in the previous post but you can find similar here from H&M and Noisy may

The boots are River Island and I live in these, they are extremely comfy and go with everything and are instore and available here

So my advise girls is go get those grey jeans you wont regret it!

Embellished Jumpers

FashionMy Style

Embellished jumpers are definitely ones to have hanging in your wardrobe, Why’s that you ask? Well because they are easily dressed up or dressed down. And so handy to make you look good, even if you don’t feel it.

embellished top

The beauty about embellished jumpers is they can look good with anything, jeans, and skirts.

I love this jumper and it is such a statement piece too with the embellishments on it. Its casual yet dressy.

Casual Wear

I had my eye on this for a long time and when I spotted this jumper on sale I simply had to have it. Its from Asos by a brand called Starry Eyed and you’ll find it here. I got it in the petite size and sized down as its quiet a large fit. It’s such a stunning top and everytime I wear it I get asked about it (even from Strangers). I also spotted similar tops here, and here

Here is a closer pic of the detail on the jumper, I have also paired this with my nude/blush tulle skirt from Love Cherish and it looks great with it. The jeans I picked up from Vanilla Boutique and are the Rant and Rave brand for €65, the most comfortable jeans you’ll find and a great fit. Very flattering.

The heels are from Savida and are in stock at the moment (Mine are last years but there is a similar colour in stock at the moment)

So don’t be afraid to add a few embellished tops to the wardrobe as casual wear

Pink is the new black!

FashionFashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

IMG_6979

I am loving the spring colours creeping in but in particular all those candy/bubblegum pinks and hot pinks. They are such a lovely change from black and perfect for Spring/Summer. In fact I love all the bright colours that pop up around this time of the year. And with this dull weather I find it really refreshing. I tend to purchase things now for the summer wardrobe too. Main reason being, we never really get much of a summer here in Ireland but I hate to wear dark colours during the summertime even if the weather feels like its confused and cold!! Hence its always a good idea to pick up bright jumpers/Tops/coats now

The thing about pink is it goes with absolutely everything blue jeans/black/grey jeans, oh and so perfectly with white!

IMG_6988

Not only am I loving the pink but I adore all things frills at the moment, this little beauty above is Savida. Its like a sweatshirt material which I love but it can be dressed up. Dunnes Stores have really improved their branding and their style of clothing. This is from the Savida brand, which would have been regarded as a little more expensive but believe it or not this was €30 and is still available online here

IMG_6987

I choose to wear mind with my black leathers but I’m planning on wearing these with white jeans when it becomes acceptable to pull them out and as the weather gets dryer!

IMG_6991

The bag was a gift from hubbie as before and the heels are penneys as before also (They are current stock and €16)

There is some gorgeous pink clothing for this season girls so dont be afraid to try it out. Plus there is different options of hues in the colour pink, so something to suit every complexion

My Style and a little boutique in the south east!

FashionMy Style

IMG_7153

Girls

You all know I’m all about affordable fashion and supporting local boutiques or not even local but Irish owned Boutiques.. I’ve said it so many times, everyone should pop into their local boutiques, you’ll be surprised what you’ll find and how inexpensive it can be…Everyone has this misconception that boutiques are expensive…yes some are but the majority of our Irish owned boutiques aren’t and you can find some lovely affordable pieces for any occasion. Times have changed and I have got some gorgeous pieces in the last few years from Irish owned Boutiques…

If you saw on my Facebook page the other night, I popped into a little gem of a shop located in the south east of Ireland, and discovered some beautiful pieces. In the thriving town of Dungarvan lies a Boutique called Signet-Boutique  it’s so pretty, they have an amazing collection and you’ll always find something that little bit special here. I’m lucky I visit Dungarvan a lot as my lovely sister lives there, so its hard not to pop into it when I’m visiting! Finola and the girls are incredibly helpful and so lovely. Last Saturday I popped in for a quick look, and let me tell you its never quick as you’ll be seduced by the stock!! So here’s a look at what I picked up ….

Crop pic of top

I adore this top from Signet its one of those tops that is perfect for a night out or catch up with the girls during the daytime/evening time, its dressy but can be worn casual. The detail on this top is incredible. I love the bow part and hems on the sleeves as they are all sequins while the rest of the top is a t-shirt type material. It is the most comfiest top I’ve worn. At  €59.99 it definitely looks a lot more!!

IMG_7150

I paired the Top with my Freddy Leathers which you may have noticed I wear to death, I didn’t pick the leathers up in Signet but guess what ladies? Signet stock the freddy jeans and leathers!! Another good reason for you to pop in!!

IMG_7141

Anytime I wear these leather pants I’m inundated with questions about them! They are extremely comfy and true to size.

Crop pic of heels

The heels are my all time bargain, picked these up in Penneys for €16 .. love them!

So girls do pop into Signet if you live or are down near the area, I promise you won’t be disappointed, they are also on facebook and I’m pretty sure they’ll take orders online!! This top is only one of many fabulous pieces they have in stock. Their link is here

IMG_7157

Lots more looks in the pipeline and pretty busy for the next few weeks, but can I just thank Emer Irish Fashaholic for these amazing pictures. And how beautiful are the interiors in the Penthouse of the Clayton Hotel Cork City, want them for my own house :). I love working with Emer, always great fun and chats, and I wish her the best of luck with her new arrival on the way in a few weeks xx

Until next time

The suede Trench Coat..

FashionMy Style

IMG_6498

So suede has gone crazy for winter, and huge this season…its everywhere and on every item of clothing be it tops, skirts, dresses jackets and coats. Its so nice and I opted for a suede trench coat. Its the texture and the warmth of it that sold it for me. Albeit lets hope the rain doesnt hit it 🙂

IMG_6504

For this look I paired it with my River Island leathers, again I purchased them last year but they still have them as they restock every year and you’ll find them in store and here. I also picked these boots up from TK Maxx, they are guess boots and were a steal at €45!

IMG_6509

Its the back of this trench that I love the way its shaped and the style of it. I like that its got a waterfall front too…I have paired it with Nike trainers too and looks just as good. This Coat is available from Vanilla Boutique and is now reduced in their sale for €45 a bargain!!

Pics are by Emer Irish Fashaholic who is a doll and we always have so much fun.

Hope you like the look

My christmas party dress!

Fashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

IMG_6568

So there’s been lots of parties over the Christmas..loads of fun to be had…I had one already but we’ve a few planned from Stephens day onwards…now we can all be broke trying to buy some party dresses. But when I spotted this one in Penneys I thought yep this will definitely be worn loads over the Christmas!

IMG_6576

Its so comfy and reminds me a little bit of the self portrait dress except its incredible comfy and not a bit stiff the material that is! Its a lace style but it was the price that surprised me, at €25 it had to go in my wardrobe! It comes in a gorgeous wine colour too but I always think black never goes out of fashion, particularly a little black dress!

IMG_6581

The back of it is so lovely too its see through which makes it even nicer and I love the long sleeves.

IMG_6573

In fact I’m dressed head to toe in Penneys, the fur scarf is penneys last season but they have lots of other colours in stock at the moment..navy, mink, grey and lots of others! The shoes are penneys are so comfy the back detail in the heel is lovely with a lace up.

Hope you liked this look, its such a fun dress and at that price you cant leave it behind!

Until next time

Christmas Nights out Mid Week!

Uncategorized

Hey Girls

So as you know there’s going to be tonnes and tonnes of Christmas parties from here on in!! Now for me, if I’m honest this isn’t the case! Mumslife!! Christ my 5 year old has more of a social life than I do 🙂

But there is one or two random mid week nights I have coming up..hence what to wear for a night out mid week??

So this is what I’m going with..Its dressy but simple! Nothing too over the top if its not a Friday/Saturday night..

IMG_6526

Leather pants and a Faux Fur coat..perfect to dress anything up!! And gorgeous and warm for these chilly nights. Like I said its simple and chic.

IMG_6539

I paired the pants with a Lace Shirt from Penneys for €10 which is a bargain as its so comfy and great quality.

IMG_6531

The fabulous Pink & Grey Faux Fur Jacket is from Love Cherish I adore it ..its so comfy and quiet heavy…glammy too! It was €105 which is great value for the quality and they have some in store, so contact the gorgeous girls on 063 21830.

IMG_6525

I adore these watches from Sundial Watches, they are stunning. The unique difference to these watches is they are solar powered. They are beautifully finished and would be the perfect christmas gift. The thing I love most about Sundial watches is they are owned by an Irish Company Calcul based in Shannon, and you know how I feel about supporing local Irish businesses. All the details on how to contact them is on the link above! I was lucky enough to win a competition for one of these pieces (From Yummy Mummy Blog) but I’ve added a few more of their designs on my wishlist for hubbie 😉 A girl can never have enough watches right??

IMG_6540

The pants are the infamous Freddy Jeans, and boy are these leathers amazing..I adore them and they fit perfectly! I got these from my hubbie for my birthday after tormenting him about them for an age! The shoes I got about two years ago from Milanoo delivered for the total sum of €35 I kid you not!!! They are fab! Cari’s Closet are doing these I believe and Penneys have launched similar ones in nude and also a black colour for €19. The YSL Clutch I picked up from Depop and if you re not familiar with this site girls, I recommend you do, as you can pick up some new barely worn high street, designer and vintage pieces for great prices..

All pics are by Emer@Irish Fashaholic and thanks so much to Maeve @LoveCherish for collaborating with me on the Fur Coat!

If you girls have any questions just ask

Until next time

Outfit of the Day: Cork Blogger Event

My Style

IMG_20160829_081846 (1)

So quickly posting this look from Sundays Cloggers event …for those of you not familiar, its a Cork Blogging community who are part of a bloggers group called Cloggers. Its a fantastic group co founded by Marie @TheBeautMum and Richael @Shelllabelleblog both amazing women who have founded this in order for all bloggers to support and share information among the group. They organise two events throughout the year which are exceptional. And Sunday was the Summer Event. I will be posting all about it later in the week but here’s a quick look at what I wore.

DSC_0842

Picked this dress up on my travels recently, or should I say my hubbie got it for me while we were away as a wedding anniversary gift. Its from & Other Stories one of my favourite stores. The brand is swedish owned and part of the H&M family as well as Cos, Monki and Cheap Monday. Rumour has it they are to open in Grafton street in Autumn of this year so around now if it hasn’t already. The dress is 90% cotton so very wearable, love this material! The dress is also available to order online here (€65)

DSC_0849

This vintage bag was such a find, its Louis Vuitton and the second hand store has since closed down. I love the simplicity of the bag.

DSC_0851

Shoes as before by Miss KG and some still available here

DSC_0839

I popped a black blazer from Zara over the dress just incase it was cold…really there was no need as it was glorious weather on the day.

I’ll have more later in the week on the whole event so stay tuned

Until then
