A statement Coat

FashionMy Style

A statement coat is a key piece for any wardrobe at any age. It can be thrown over anything and look amazing. You could have your pj top on underneath and no one would know, a beautiful coat can hide anything underneath!!

I’m lucky I have quiet a few nice ones and they always come in handy when I’m not really feeling it with an outfit. Or I want to give an outfit that finishing touch before heading out the door. A statement coat will last forever too and always get noticed!! I don’t know how many times I’ve asked some of the girls at the school gates where they got their fabulous coats!! And you know what…. a statement coat is great to have if you are pregnant too!

The thing is you will get so much wear out of a good coat and our lovely Irish weather will make sure of it 🙂 Now I know its sunny in these pics but by god was it freezing and I was ever so glad we were shooting a coat!!

This Statement Coat is a cape and I absolutely love it…it was a complete surprise from my hubbie at christmas..now I badgered him into getting me a completely different coat from Zara (another one I love) because I had no idea he had already bought me this coat. Poor man heart broken with me!! The Cape is Jovanna London but unfortunately its sold out. But here are some beautiful coats that will outlast your wardrobe ! Try Here, here here, & here,

The blouse is a vintage blouse I picked up at EvaMayVintage who has amazing pieces so check her out as you will get one off beauties at her boutique. There are similar blouses here here, and here. The leather pants are Freddy leathers as before.

And the bag I picked up on depop which is a great app if you don’t have it..you can get some great bits on it.

Now I know Summer is coming but in my opinion, its always important to have a good quality tailored coat hanging in the wardrobe!

Grey jeans and How to style them: Part 2

FashionMy Style

Grey jeans as you know I have styled with all grey everything in my last post…this time I’ve decided to wear it a different way and to show you how easy it is to style these type of coloured jeans.

Oasis Leather Jacket

On any given day during the week its always nice to dress down, and stay comfy and casual. You’ve heard me mention school runs numerous times and this is one look with the grey jeans I usually go for first thing in the morning. Leather jackets with grey jeans always look good at anytime.

Primark Tshirt

This leather jacket is quiet old, it was a Christmas gift and its by Oasis Clothing. The beauty with Oasis is they make clothes to last and this leather jacket is lasting a lifetime. I love it, it has fur on the collar that is removable, which is an added bonus as its like two jackets in one! You will find Penneys have a similar jacket minus the fur for €23 and they are a lovely fit or you will find similar from Oasis here for €65.

Leather Jacket

I also paired it with a simple grey t-shirt from Primark, its from last year but they have restocked them since. I love these type of tshirt as they dont stick to your body and are loose yet have a little structure. HM are great for these type tshirts and you’ll find them for €7.99 here They are great t-shirts for any type of jeans.

Grey Jeans

I’m wearing the same grey jeans as in the previous post but you can find similar here from H&M and Noisy may

The boots are River Island and I live in these, they are extremely comfy and go with everything and are instore and available here

So my advise girls is go get those grey jeans you wont regret it!

Embellished Jumpers

FashionMy Style

Embellished jumpers are definitely ones to have hanging in your wardrobe, Why’s that you ask? Well because they are easily dressed up or dressed down. And so handy to make you look good, even if you don’t feel it.

embellished top

The beauty about embellished jumpers is they can look good with anything, jeans, and skirts.

I love this jumper and it is such a statement piece too with the embellishments on it. Its casual yet dressy.

Casual Wear

I had my eye on this for a long time and when I spotted this jumper on sale I simply had to have it. Its from Asos by a brand called Starry Eyed and you’ll find it here. I got it in the petite size and sized down as its quiet a large fit. It’s such a stunning top and everytime I wear it I get asked about it (even from Strangers). I also spotted similar tops here, and here

Here is a closer pic of the detail on the jumper, I have also paired this with my nude/blush tulle skirt from Love Cherish and it looks great with it. The jeans I picked up from Vanilla Boutique and are the Rant and Rave brand for €65, the most comfortable jeans you’ll find and a great fit. Very flattering.

The heels are from Savida and are in stock at the moment (Mine are last years but there is a similar colour in stock at the moment)

So don’t be afraid to add a few embellished tops to the wardrobe as casual wear

Pink is the new black!

FashionFashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

IMG_6979

I am loving the spring colours creeping in but in particular all those candy/bubblegum pinks and hot pinks. They are such a lovely change from black and perfect for Spring/Summer. In fact I love all the bright colours that pop up around this time of the year. And with this dull weather I find it really refreshing. I tend to purchase things now for the summer wardrobe too. Main reason being, we never really get much of a summer here in Ireland but I hate to wear dark colours during the summertime even if the weather feels like its confused and cold!! Hence its always a good idea to pick up bright jumpers/Tops/coats now

The thing about pink is it goes with absolutely everything blue jeans/black/grey jeans, oh and so perfectly with white!

IMG_6988

Not only am I loving the pink but I adore all things frills at the moment, this little beauty above is Savida. Its like a sweatshirt material which I love but it can be dressed up. Dunnes Stores have really improved their branding and their style of clothing. This is from the Savida brand, which would have been regarded as a little more expensive but believe it or not this was €30 and is still available online here

IMG_6987

I choose to wear mind with my black leathers but I’m planning on wearing these with white jeans when it becomes acceptable to pull them out and as the weather gets dryer!

IMG_6991

The bag was a gift from hubbie as before and the heels are penneys as before also (They are current stock and €16)

There is some gorgeous pink clothing for this season girls so dont be afraid to try it out. Plus there is different options of hues in the colour pink, so something to suit every complexion

My Style and a little boutique in the south east!

FashionMy Style

IMG_7153

Girls

You all know I’m all about affordable fashion and supporting local boutiques or not even local but Irish owned Boutiques.. I’ve said it so many times, everyone should pop into their local boutiques, you’ll be surprised what you’ll find and how inexpensive it can be…Everyone has this misconception that boutiques are expensive…yes some are but the majority of our Irish owned boutiques aren’t and you can find some lovely affordable pieces for any occasion. Times have changed and I have got some gorgeous pieces in the last few years from Irish owned Boutiques…

If you saw on my Facebook page the other night, I popped into a little gem of a shop located in the south east of Ireland, and discovered some beautiful pieces. In the thriving town of Dungarvan lies a Boutique called Signet-Boutique  it’s so pretty, they have an amazing collection and you’ll always find something that little bit special here. I’m lucky I visit Dungarvan a lot as my lovely sister lives there, so its hard not to pop into it when I’m visiting! Finola and the girls are incredibly helpful and so lovely. Last Saturday I popped in for a quick look, and let me tell you its never quick as you’ll be seduced by the stock!! So here’s a look at what I picked up ….

Crop pic of top

I adore this top from Signet its one of those tops that is perfect for a night out or catch up with the girls during the daytime/evening time, its dressy but can be worn casual. The detail on this top is incredible. I love the bow part and hems on the sleeves as they are all sequins while the rest of the top is a t-shirt type material. It is the most comfiest top I’ve worn. At  €59.99 it definitely looks a lot more!!

IMG_7150

I paired the Top with my Freddy Leathers which you may have noticed I wear to death, I didn’t pick the leathers up in Signet but guess what ladies? Signet stock the freddy jeans and leathers!! Another good reason for you to pop in!!

IMG_7141

Anytime I wear these leather pants I’m inundated with questions about them! They are extremely comfy and true to size.

Crop pic of heels

The heels are my all time bargain, picked these up in Penneys for €16 .. love them!

So girls do pop into Signet if you live or are down near the area, I promise you won’t be disappointed, they are also on facebook and I’m pretty sure they’ll take orders online!! This top is only one of many fabulous pieces they have in stock. Their link is here

IMG_7157

Lots more looks in the pipeline and pretty busy for the next few weeks, but can I just thank Emer Irish Fashaholic for these amazing pictures. And how beautiful are the interiors in the Penthouse of the Clayton Hotel Cork City, want them for my own house :). I love working with Emer, always great fun and chats, and I wish her the best of luck with her new arrival on the way in a few weeks xx

Until next time

Poco by Pippa O Connor Review

FashionFashion and Beauty Blog

16231415_10154963222916719_1055427391_o16251082_10154963223296719_1251053681_o16231031_10154963223086719_707541359_o

Well last weekend it was hubbies birthday and he decided we’d head off for a romantic night…eh no it was  actually for a full night sleep without any minions climbing into our bed at some unmerciful hour of the night!! Not only that Hubs decided to send me off to Limerick for the day…Low and behold Pippa O’Connor was having a pop up store in Limerick on the same day!!(As my sister asked while calling her on the way down..Whose birthday is it again?? I know right?)

Now before going into the pop up shop I had an idea of what I wanted and after looking like a 100 times online I decided it was…the slimmers!

When I got there I was  met with a queue but in fairness it moved pretty quickly..as always and to be expected (as it is Pippa after all) the pop up shop was beautifully set out…very classy and the girls on hand to greet us, were so so helpful, very informative and full of advise!! We could try two at a time and I mentioned I wanted to try them all…research ladies research!!!

As they handed me the Leather look and the Off Duty I couldn’t help but notice how soft the “Off Duty” felt I mean incredibly soft!

So here’s the rundown on all the jeans by each style and I’ll let you know at the end what I ordered!

The Leather Look

16244711_10154963222076719_1630931001_o

Can I say in general for any leather look jean I’m not a huge fan ..perhaps its that coated feel but that is just me personally..Just before I tried them on I was advised to go a size down on all the jeans, as all are stretchy material. I am a size 8 in river Island jeans so they suggested a 6 (Now that’s a first!!) Visions of burst zips, ripped jeans, one toe just fitting in the leg and not moving any further…you get my drift!!! With a nervous voice I ask Michelle McGrath was she sure about that..I am definitely not a 6!! But she reassured me they’d fit!! Suffice to say the 6 was perfect…the jeans went on no problem and stretched to fit my shape. I went for the shorter lenght to try on as I’m only 5’5 and generally ( Any Regular is a little longer on me and I end up rolling them up).  The short lenght was perfect, slightly below the ankle (so no rolling up), and the shape was nice on ..now don’t get me wrong the leather look was nice and comfortable, and gave your figure a great shape. The other thing I like about all poco jeans is that they are either a mid rise or high rise (The leather look is mid rise), so no exposing anything embarrassing when bending down and no pulling up jeans numerous times during the day!

Over all they are nice,  give a good shape but not gone on the coated feel ((maybe that is just a personal thing as I am not gone on the coated look I prefer faux leather). I did notice that because they were being tried on so much there was a few makeup marks on the waistline of the jeans but that’s normal for coated jeans so clean your hands before putting them on. These are priced at €90

The Off Duty

16325886_10154963221406719_1126612681_o

As I said straight up when handed these jeans to try on in the waiting room, I was instantly in love as they were unbelievably soft. On trying them they fitted so comfortably, I could see myself wearing these on a night out or living in them every day for school runs, walking, running around shopping etc. The girls also mentioned they could be worn with heels or trainers which was so true! Again the fit was high rise(no exposure bending down to pick the toddler up!) and slightly distressed. They were lovely and stretchy too. They say they are a loose fit but I found the 6 nice and fitted around the waist/ Bum area but the leg and below the thigh was more a relaxed fit but not too slouchy which is nice for a change. I was told they will loosen out below the knee but not anywhere else so a nice laid back look jean (hence the off duty name!)  Instantly I was sold, they are without a doubt a lovely pair of jeans and worth every penny (That’s just my preference! And they seemed to suit my shape) They only come in a lenght 29″ but are meant to be worn rolled up. They are priced at €90.

The Slimmers

16107933_10154963222201719_1800690944_o

I love a nice skinny jean and these were definitely skinny…now they weren’t like those skinny’s that you try on and literally cant get the leg up over your knee..these also are a stretchy material. They are mid to high rise (Bonus) but it was the shape of the top of these jeans I loved. They lift your bum up and have a lovely shape around the bum area, the stitching has a little similarity to salsa jeans. The fit past the waist was comfortable but very fitted on the legs. The lenght I tried in these was regular as the short wasn’t available and it went half way over my foot. (again I’m 5’5 so definitely need the shorter lenght). Again I liked these particularly around the bum area it gave a lovely shape with the stitching. They weren’t my favourite although the more I looked at the fit on my shape the more they grew on me, I think  the lenght threw me a bit (plus i wouldn’t have the skinniest of legs either)…overall they were nice and gave a great shape. These jeans are a little more expensive than the others at €110.

The Saturday night

16229999_10154963222431719_971142398_o

What can I say, as soon as I tried these on I loved them. A gorgeous comfy jean and so flattering, I can see why they are so popular. They have very stretchy material,  I tried the size 6 and shorter lenght (28″ which hit my ankle). They have a slight fading throughout but more so on the knee part. (The only thing I would say is they could fade more, as you wash them so just be conscious of this). They were gorgeous around the waist/bum area, i believe they are described as bum lifting and that they are. They are incredibly comfortable not as soft as the Off Duty but still so so comfy. A jeans for any occasion, (night out or casual with trainers running after young ones!!) Without a doubt I loved these also. A little more expensive than the slimmer or off duty at €110 but worth it for the shape and comfort alone.

In the end my favourite are “The off Duty”…a gorgeous jean for day or night…so well done Pippa, you know what us women want and with the options of styles there is something to suit every type of shape and woman! You can find all styles here

The only thing I will say is we definitely could do with more pop up shops please, Pippa, as you can’t really judge what suits your shape until you try them on 🙂

Hope that helped girls and any other questions you might have, just ask me

Until next time

The suede Trench Coat..

FashionMy Style

IMG_6498

So suede has gone crazy for winter, and huge this season…its everywhere and on every item of clothing be it tops, skirts, dresses jackets and coats. Its so nice and I opted for a suede trench coat. Its the texture and the warmth of it that sold it for me. Albeit lets hope the rain doesnt hit it 🙂

IMG_6504

For this look I paired it with my River Island leathers, again I purchased them last year but they still have them as they restock every year and you’ll find them in store and here. I also picked these boots up from TK Maxx, they are guess boots and were a steal at €45!

IMG_6509

Its the back of this trench that I love the way its shaped and the style of it. I like that its got a waterfall front too…I have paired it with Nike trainers too and looks just as good. This Coat is available from Vanilla Boutique and is now reduced in their sale for €45 a bargain!!

Hope you like the look

The day dress for any wardrobe …My style

FashionFashion and Beauty BlogMy StyleUncategorized

IMG_6552

A girl can never have too many dresses right?? And we always manage to find the perfect dress for a night out..but how impossible is it to find a nice day dress these days..One that will go with any type of boot be it ankle or knee high along with a pair of heels.

This one I spotted flying through Dunnes one day and though it was perfect. It sits so nice on and the shape is so forgiving. Its great paired with heels and ankle boots but for this shoot I popped on a pair of knee highs which I picked up last January in the River Island sales. There is similar here for €54!

IMG_6555

I love the detail in the top part of the dress it has frills and is really pretty. The neckline is lovely too. It is by Savida and there is a few still available in store, it is sold out online. The only thing I will say is size up on this.

IMG_6547

I loved the lenght too and it looks great with opaque tights. I throw a fur collar over it, the collar is vintage but penneys are doing similar and swamp clothing.

So there’s my perfect day time dress for you girls

Hope you like,

Until next time

My christmas party dress!

Fashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

IMG_6568

So there’s been lots of parties over the Christmas..loads of fun to be had…I had one already but we’ve a few planned from Stephens day onwards…now we can all be broke trying to buy some party dresses. But when I spotted this one in Penneys I thought yep this will definitely be worn loads over the Christmas!

IMG_6576

Its so comfy and reminds me a little bit of the self portrait dress except its incredible comfy and not a bit stiff the material that is! Its a lace style but it was the price that surprised me, at €25 it had to go in my wardrobe! It comes in a gorgeous wine colour too but I always think black never goes out of fashion, particularly a little black dress!

IMG_6581

The back of it is so lovely too its see through which makes it even nicer and I love the long sleeves.

IMG_6573

In fact I’m dressed head to toe in Penneys, the fur scarf is penneys last season but they have lots of other colours in stock at the moment..navy, mink, grey and lots of others! The shoes are penneys are so comfy the back detail in the heel is lovely with a lace up.

Hope you liked this look, its such a fun dress and at that price you cant leave it behind!

Christmas day outfit -My Style

FashionFashion and Beauty BlogMy Style

So girls I know some of you aren’t fans of getting too dressed up over Christmas as in throwing on tulles, flouncy dresses etc for Christmas day…I could go either way depends on the mood…but as a rule I tend to dress up

This is something I pulled together and figured it would be a nice Christmas day outfit look, its not overly dressy and you can hide a whole christmas turkey underneath!! Bonus!

IMG_6475

The Jumper I picked up from one of my local boutiques Off The Rails Mitchelstown, the brand is new to the store which was recently acquired by Gill and they have beautiful stock. This jumper is unfortunately sold out but she has similar styles of the same brand.

IMG_6482

I love the style of this jumper, although you cant see it, the black trim of the sleeves, shoulders and the bottom is all velvet and the main material is a scuba material. The sleeves are also mesh which I love and it makes the whole jumper very dressy. You can also find similar here and equally dressy jumpers here,  here, and here

IMG_6481

The leather pants are the Freddy ones and you can purchase here. The heels are Dunnes Stores from last year. They were €30 but they have brought out a similar colour which is available in store or here.

IMG_6480

And finally I threw a fur scarf over my jumper, this one I picked up from Penneys last year but they have brought in other colours this year and are only €15.

Pics are by the ever talented Emer Irish Fashaholic we had so much fun shooting this look.

Hope you like it and again any questions just ask
